About me and my therapy practice
Hi I’m Jane, If you are reading this, you have taken the most important first step in reaching out to find some help. I provide a compassionate, caring and supportive role, working at a pace comfortable to you.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, which means I abide by their Code of Practice and work within their Ethical Framework and any information you share is treated confidentially.
My approach is Person-Centred Counselling which underpins all of my work. I offer a safe and confidential space for you to explore your experiences and the challenges you face. I believe we all have a deep need to be heard and understood and that someone else actually gets it.
Practice description
Together the focus is on building a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship that will help you identify the difficulties you are facing and exploring these challenges will help to develop a better understanding of yourself, creating positive growth and change that will support both your mental health and well-being.
I am committed to provide clients the space to reflect on their experiences without judgement and have an open hearted approach to the issues each client brings. While counselling cannot alter the past we can evolve and become empowered to make the changes for a better future.
Working together, counselling will give you the opportunity to process your thoughts and feelings and find alternative ways of managing your mental health and well-being. Counselling will enable you to better understand your situation and create positive change so that your life becomes more fulfilling.
Thank you for reading my profile and I look forward to hearing from you.
My first session
From time to time we all find ourselves needing a little extra help and support and so the aim is to get a feel for one another, spending time so that we can see if I am the right counsellor for you. The key to successful therapy is the relationship between you and your counsellor.
As no two people are the same, therapy can be tailored to your needs, the focus is on understanding you as a whole person and not isolated problems.
In our first session we will begin to explore what it is that has brought you to therapy and the changes you would like to make.
Types of therapy
CBT, Integrative, Person centred
Clients I work with
Adults, Couples, EAP, Older adults, Young people
How I deliver therapy
Home visits, Long-term face-to-face work, Outdoor therapy, Short-term face-to-face work, Time-limited
Therapist - Sutton Coldfield
