About me and my therapy practice
Having someone be there who is warm, compassionate and completely focusing on you, knowing you can say absolutely anything you need too, without fear of being judged, simply listening, supporting and being beside you, is the most invaluable support there can be.
I can’t promise you it will always be an easy journey, but I can promise you I will be there with you every step of the way. Here for you, hearing and guiding you
I pride myself on developing a good rapport with my clients. I know how difficult taking that first step in counselling might be so it is important to me that you feel relaxed and secure whilst in our session. I work with all ages, but have a long history of dealing with work/educational stress for both adults and teens.
Practice description
I'm a warm and friendly Â鶹Դ´-accredited counsellor with dedicated experience counselling individuals through life's challenges.
My experience is built upon a foundation of over 21 years working with young people as a college lecturer, providing me with a unique and in-depth understanding of their developmental needs and the pressures they face. My extensive background has equipped me with a deep understanding of the complexities of mental and emotional well-being.
I have a particular passion for working with young people, and my prior experience as a college lecturer has given me valuable insights into the issues they commonly encounter.
In addition to my work with young people, I also have experience providing work-based counselling, understanding the particular stresses and strains that can arise in professional environments.
I also provide couples counselling, offering support to improve communication, resolve conflict, and strengthen relationships.
Beyond my clinical work, I am committed to promoting mental health awareness through workshops and talks to organisations. I have had the privilege of working with companies such as Revlon and Muller, delivering tailored sessions to support employee well-being.
My approach is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and respect for each individual's unique journey. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can feel heard, understood, and empowered to achieve their goals.
I'm an integrated counsellor which means I'll work in different ways, tailored to your needs.
My first session
During the first session we will get to know each other. Rapport is very important, so we need to know we are a suitable fit for each other.
I will do an initial assessment so I can make sure I provide you with the best counselling for you and I will also discuss our terms of agreement. This is an agreement that outlines how I practice according to the Â鶹Դ´ ethical code of practice. I will explain all this to you.
I know how important it is for you to explain what you are going through so I will make sure we have all the admin out of the way and give you plenty of time to explain your issues.
