About me and my therapy practice

I am a psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist and I am here to provide you with a safe space and to help you to expand your self-understanding with the aim of increasing your personal agency to make desired life changes.

I work in an explorative, non-directive way with whatever you bring to me, which might be something you have been dealing with in your life for a long time, or an unexpected event or realisation that has left you struggling to cope as you would normally.  It may be something you can clearly articulate or a vague sense or feeling you have.  You might know that it is to do with your emotions, or you might not.  Or perhaps it is around depression, anxiety, identity or intercultural issues, loss, traumatic experiences past or present, workplace and relationship problems.

Talking is not always easy, even if there is a part of you that really wants to do it.  There are no 'rules' about what we talk about and how we talk in this type of therapy; it is simply your space in which to explore who you were, are and want to be and my job to facilitate that.

Alongside my private work, I currently work within an NHS Specialist Psychotherapy Service and I am experienced in working both short and longer term with adults from a wide range of backgrounds, ethnicities and ages (18+)

My theoretical base is grounded in psychodynamic principles, which broadly means I am interested in links between past and present feelings and behaviours, conscious and unconscious thoughts, unhelpful processes and relationship patterns.

I am registered with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (Â鶹ԭ´´) and the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC).  I have an MSc (Masters of Science) postgraduate degree in psychodynamic counselling and psychotherapy from Birkbeck College, University of London.

Practice description

If you would like to find out more about what having counselling/psychotherapy with me would be like, please email me in the first instance or use the messaging form on the left hand side of this page and we can arrange a brief phone call.

Following this, we can arrange an initial consultation session.  I would prefer this to be face to face (and indeed have a preference for working in this way generally) but I am also experienced in working online and so we can meet this way too.

We can explore what you feel your difficulties are and what you are looking for in therapy.  If either of us feel that what I can offer is not the right fit for you at this point, I can help you think about and signpost you to other options.

If you would like to start working with me, we can decide whether we are initially thinking for a shorter period or longer-term.  We can review these decisions regularly.  My fees for the initial consultation and on-going work are £70 per session and we will meet at the same time on the same day weekly.

I currently work from three different locations in London; Muswell Hill, Finchley or Kings Cross (just a few minutes walk from Finchley Central tube station and Kings Cross Railway/Tube Station respectively).

I look forward to hearing from you.
