About me and my therapy practice
You might be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, carrying a persistent low mood, or finding that old patterns in relationships are holding you back. Perhaps life feels stuck, or you’re navigating a difficult transition. Whatever has brought you here, you don’t have to face it alone.
I am a Â鶹Դ´-accredited Psychotherapist/Counsellor with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling Psychology. I am also a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) with over 30 years’ experience supporting individuals, couples, families and young people through life’s challenges. I started out training in the clinical psychology department at St Thomas’ Hospital, London, laying a strong foundation in evidence-based work.
I take an integrative approach to counselling, tailoring therapy to your unique needs. This includes person-centred therapy for empathy and unconditional acceptance; cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to equip you with practical tools for challenging unhelpful thoughts; emotionally focused therapy (EFT) to strengthen emotional connections; and systemic ideas to explore family patterns and their influence. I also draw on elements of psychodynamic and narrative therapy, helping you gently uncover past influences and empowering you to reshape your own story.
For the past 10 years, I have run my private practice in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, where I aim to create a safe, warm, and truly non-judgemental space in which you can feel genuinely listened to and understood.
Practice description
Working with Individual Adults
I work with adults experiencing difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, stress, or a general sense that life isn’t quite right. I offer a calm, confidential space to talk things through at your own pace, without pressure or assumptions. Together we explore what’s bothering you, why it might be happening, and what could help, whether that’s clearer thinking, better boundaries, or simply being heard.
Experience with Children and Young People
For seven years, alongside my private practice, I worked as a school counsellor, delivering over 2,000 weekly sessions with children and young people aged 7 to 18.
This extensive experience has given me a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced during these emotional and developmental years. I have supported young people through friendship issues and bullying, feelings of isolation and low self-esteem, exam stress and procrastination, anxiety, low mood and panic attacks, self-harm and suicidal thoughts, eating and body-image concerns, as well as family changes and bereavement.
Families
I also work with families when it is helpful, often beginning with a child or teenager in individual therapy and then involving parents or the wider family. This can help improve communication, support a young person to share things they find difficult to say, or assist parents in talking openly about behaviour, emotions, or boundaries.
Working with Couples
I work with couples who want to reconnect and improve their relationship. You may be caught in repeated arguments, feeling emotionally distant, or working through a difficult period. I see both of you as individuals with your own perspectives, while honouring the shared history between you. Sessions focus on open communication without blame, and on making small, manageable changes in a safe, private space.
My first session
In our first full session we will discuss confidentiality and I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have. We’ll explore what has brought you to therapy and how I can best support you.
Sessions last 60 minutes and are usually weekly to begin with. We regularly review progress together and can flexibly adjust the frequency as needed.
If you think I could help, please feel free to book a session. Alternatively, if you’d prefer to connect first and see whether we’re a good fit, I offer a complimentary 15-minute conversation.
