About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor working both within the charitable sector and in private practice. I run a small therapy centre in South London where I offer long and short term therapy.
I work with people from all walks of life, facing varied difficulties and challenges.
I am a tutor at the Minster Centre where I teach on the Post Graduate Diploma course in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling.
I offer integrative therapy which means I can draw from different approaches in order to listen more effectively to your individual experience. My practice is non-judgemental and based upon equality. I am committed to an open dialogue with my clients where we can work together to try to find meaning and understanding in your individual experience.
Frequently asked questions:
If I start therapy do I have to commit for years?
No you don't. I offer short and long term therapy. Ultimately you decide when you would like to end therapy as part of an ongoing and open conversation.
I am not sure whether I really need therapy?
Sometimes it is worth starting therapy to understand whether you think the process will be useful to you or not. We can work together to understand this.
How will I know if you are right for me?
Book a trial appointment to see whether you feel comfortable with the therapist. Different people want different things from the process. I offer an initial consultation where we can talk about what you feel would be useful to you. You can then consider whether you would like to begin working with me.
Will you put me under pressure to talk about things that I do not want to?
No. My practice is based upon equality and connection. We will go at the pace that you set and that feels safe for you. Part of the ongoing process of us developing our working alliance is around understanding your pace.
If you have any other questions or would like to discuss making an appointment please e mail me or call me.
Practice description
Therapy is a simple conversation with someone who is trained to hear you.
We will collaborate to explore and put words to the different aspects of your experience. I am trauma informed and draw upon Embodied practices to support our work.
I work in awareness of the structural systems of power within which we are embedded in order to constantly strive towards anti-oppressive practice.
My first session
The first session will be a way of understanding where you are at and want you are looking for from therapy. This is an information gathering phase of the therapy.
