About me and my therapy practice
People seek therapy for many different reasons. You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, bereavement, or workplace stress.
A common theme among many of the people I work with is that they appear to be functioning reasonably well on the surface, yet privately feel dissatisfied, self-critical, stuck, or troubled by recurring patterns in their lives. You might have a clear idea of what is wrong, or you may simply have a general sense that things do not feel right without being able to put your finger on why.
My approach is psychodynamic, which means we look at both your present difficulties and the deeper experiences that have influenced you over time. In a confidential and non-judgemental space, we can think together about how past relationships and hidden patterns may continue to affect the way you feel, relate to others, and understand yourself.
Developing this insight helps to unpack the roots of your distress without resorting to technical jargon. Rather than imposing my own views, our work is a collaborative process which can open up new perspectives, clear emotional blockages, and support meaningful, lasting change.
An initial consultation is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, discuss what brings you to therapy, and explore how we might work together.
Practice description
Before qualifying as a counsellor, I spent more than fifteen years working within the financial services sector. This corporate background gives me a realistic, first-hand appreciation of the distinct pressures that accompany professional life in London—including high expectations, heavy responsibility, workplace stress, and navigating periods of career uncertainty or transition.
Alongside my private practice, I serve as an Assistant Course Tutor at Highgate Counselling Centre, helping to train and supervise future therapists. My clinical foundation also includes extensive experience providing crisis support to individuals in acute distress at the Maytree Respite Centre in Finsbury Park.
Training & Qualifications
MSc in Theoretical Psychoanalytic Studies – University College London (UCL)
Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling – Highgate Counselling Centre
BSc (Hons) in Psychology
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Â鶹Դ´) and practice in strict accordance with its Ethical Framework.
