Sessions from £60.00

Availability

I have online sessions available on Wednesday mornings from now. I'll have sessions available on Fridays from September. I offer sessions via Zoom or phone.

I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation. You can ask any questions and make sure I'm the right therapist for you. Just call, email or text and we'll arrange a time to speak.

About me and my therapy practice

Hello and welcome. I’m Laura, an inclusive and non-judgemental therapist. Are you exploring your gender, or know exactly what your gender is, but keep getting told you’re wrong or it’s just a phase? Do you feel trapped in a body that doesn’t align with what you’ve been told, but minimised or blamed if you talk about it?

Living like this might leave us feeling alone, anxious and stressed. It can make us feel like we’re the problem, we’re wrong. Or perhaps leave us feeling torn between identities – expectations of relationships or societal pressures against how we truly are inside.

How Can Therapy Help?

I offer you a place that is safe and accepts you as you. A place to talk about what you’re going through, practice skills to support your mental wellbeing, and explore how the many aspects of your identity intersect to make you uniquely you.

Wherever you’re at, we’ll go at your pace. I use a blend of talking, learning skills, mindfulness and creativity but we can adapt what we do so it works for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I qualified with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling in 2017, awarded by CPCAB. I’ve completed further training in:

- Working Alongside Trans, Gender Diverse and Questioning People (Gendered Intelligence, 2025)

- Polyvagal Skills and Supervision Group (Deb Dana, LCSW LICSW, 2023)

- Trauma Informed Stabilization Treatment (Janina Fisher, PH.D., 2023)

- Third Wave Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) inc. mindfulness and Compassion Focused Therapy (British Psychological Society, 2018)

Experience

In addition to working privately, I have also worked for Solace Women’s Aid, where I provided therapy to survivors of domestic and sexual violence. I've previously worked for Tonbridge Counselling Service and Southwark Day Centre for Asylum Seekers.

Practice description

Wherever you’re at, we’ll go at your pace. I use a blend of talking, learning skills, mindfulness and creativity but we can adapt what we do so it works for you.

My approach is influenced by Person Centred Therapy, Herman's 3 Stages of Trauma Recovery, Compassion Focused Therapy and Transactional Analysis.

Free 15-Minute Phone Consultation

Because having a helpful and healing experience is shaped by how well you mesh with your therapist, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation. You can ask any questions and make sure I'm the right therapist for you. Just email, call or text me and we’ll arrange a time to speak.

Online or Telephone Sessions

I offer counselling sessions via Zoom or Telephone. Both are using safe and secure technology that protects your confidentiality and data so you can access counselling from the comfort and safety of a place you choose. All you’ll need is a good internet connection fast enough to stream Netflix or BBC iPlayer.

Accessibility, Diversity and Inclusion

I’m committed to making therapy accessible for clients with disabilities and/or who are neurodiverse and will collaborate with you to adapt how we work so our sessions are safe and accessible.

I work with people of all genders and respect your chosen name, pronouns and expression of your gender identity.

I am committed to working in a culturally sensitive and inclusive way. This includes acknowledging the impact systemic racism, inequality and exclusion have on mental health, especially for people from the global majority, the LGBTQIA+ community and people with disabilities. I aim to provide a safe place where we can explore all the facets of your identity that make you uniquely you, including your race, gender, sexuality and disability.

I am committed to the process of learning, as well as unlearning beliefs and values informed by, but not limited to, racism, queerphobia, ageism and ableism.

My first session

Our first meeting will be an Assessment. This takes around 50 minutes and it’s an opportunity to get to know each other a little and see if we’ll mesh well. I’ll ask you about yourself and what you’d like from counselling, to make sure I’m the right therapist for you.

What happens next?

If we both decide we’re a good fit, our first session will normally start the next week. Before our first session, I’ll send you a welcome pack to read and sign. We’ll also chat this through as part of our first session.
