About me and my therapy practice

Does life feel heavy right now? You may feel disconnected from your emotions, anxious, or finding that ADHD or other neurodivergent experiences affect how you cope and where you fit in. Perhaps your confidence has taken a knock, or relationships feel more difficult than they used to.

I'm Paula, and I help people like you make sense of what is going on in your life. Even if it feels too much, we can gently look at what is happening and what changes you want for yourself.

I work with anxiety, helping you understand overthinking, manage feeling on edge, and build tools to help create calm.

I can support you with low mood or motivation, helping you take realistic steps towards feeling more hopeful.

I can help with ADHD-related challenges, offering practical strategies to improve focus, manage overwhelm, and strengthen emotional regulation.

If confidence and self-doubt are affecting you, I can help you build resilience, reconnect with your strengths to improve self-worth.

I can also support you with relationship difficulties, helping you improve communication, set healthy boundaries, and build stronger connections.

I’m trained in EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing), which can help you process difficult experiences and reduce their impact on your daily life.

Clients often tell me they feel safe, supported and understood in our sessions. You do not need to have everything figured out yet, we can do it together.

Reaching out can feel like a big step, especially if you are used to coping on your own, but you do deserve support and clarity.

If this resonates with you, you are welcome to get in touch by email, phone or text using the details above. Leave your name and contact details and I will get back to you as soon as I can. We can start with a conversation and see if it feels like the right fit.

Practice description

I have been a therapist for 16 years, in charitable organisations and my own private practice, I bring a person-centred approach with an integrative style of working and what that means for you is, I draw on different therapeutic methods to suit your therapy needs.

I offer therapy on line via video platform, face to face or on the phone.

My in-person sessions happen in a lovely, welcoming office on Rodney Street (L1). There are just four steps up into the building, and once inside, you'll find a comfortable and private space where I hope you'll feel at ease, therapy being just for you, somewhere you can be yourself.

My first session

If you would like to know more,

I offer a 20 minute no obligation telephone call, this is often a good starting point to ask any questions and share what you are hoping for, or simply talk through any expectations you have.  During our call I can tell you a little about me and my therapy approach, what you can expect from your 1st session so you can feel comfortable in making the decision that feels right for you.

You may wish to share what has prompted you you to reach out and discuss any hopes or goals you have, even if you are feeling unsure of what you may need or why you are here right now that is ok too.

The most important thing is that you have taken the first step towards making positive change for yourself and we can work to explore the rest together.

About me and my therapy practice

'Looking for a Supervisor'

 I'm Paula,

Supervision is an integral part of counselling practice, and I understand choosing a supervisor can feel overwhelming with so many things to consider, from experience to that all important first impression. Maybe you are looking for guidance and support as you begin your counselling placement? Maybe your setting up in private practice and want a supervisor you can discuss your thoughts and feelings with around your plans and ideas to get going? Wherever you are in your counselling journey, it can feel exciting yet overwhelming and I would love to help.

I have been a therapist for over 16 years, started out in a charity setting and in more recent years within my own private practice. My work has included supporting people through bereavement, loss, complexed trauma, family conflicts, depression anxiety and self-esteem challenges.

If you’re curious or have questions, please feel free to get in touch I’d love to chat and see how we can work together.

Practice description

What matters most to me is connection, trust, honesty and working together in support of you and the work you do with your clients. My approach is all about collaborative working, getting to know you, your learning style and therapy approach where you feel comfortable to explore and grow as the therapist you want to be. I work with both students and qualified therapists, and I’m highly experienced in providing reports for college and university requirements.
