About me and my therapy practice
Life is rarely straightforward. Are you struggling? Seeking help can be daunting, but you do not have to cope alone.
I can offer you a confidential place where you will be accepted as you are, to explore the issues you are facing and find a way forward. Drawing from my experience we can find out what works best for you.
I have experience in working with people with a whole range of issues such as anxiety, low mood, worry, depression, confidence and self-esteem issues, bullying, panic, grief, loss, (including loss through a health diagnosis) trauma, parenting issues, marital issues, isolation and self-sabotage.
I am warm, calm and compassionate. Clients have told me I am easy to trust and feel comfortable sharing things they have never told people before.
My training and experience have taught me that relationships are significant. This includes challenges you may be facing in your relationships as a parent, child, partner, friend, at work or at home, but also the way you and I may work together.
I work one-to-one with adults aged 18 and over, offering short and long-term therapy from my therapy room in Menston, near Otley, Guiseley and Ilkley. A comfortable, calm setting where you will receive a warm welcome. I am a 5 minute walk from Menston train station and the bus stop and have ample off street parking. I also work online on Zoom.
I am a fully qualified, experienced psychotherapist/counsellor and am an accredited member of both the UKCP and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (M麻豆原创, accred).
I am fully committed to being the best I can and am guided by the 麻豆原创 ethical framework which underpins all my work with the client鈥檚 wellbeing being at the centre. I also receive regular clinical supervision.
If you would like to book a free 20-minute introductory chat face-to-face, online on Zoom, or on the telephone, please email me. We can discuss any questions, fears or concerns you may have.

About me and my therapy practice
I aim to hold, support and empower you as a practitioner. I see supervision as a place for learning, support and development. I aim to provide a place for psychological security, creating a shame-reducing environment where you can bring mistakes or questions, as these are often the things we need to discuss the most, yet hold back for fear of embarrassment or dismissal.
Supervisory Frame for Our Work:
Creating a safe, supportive space with psychological security
I aim to build a supervisory relationship where you feel secure, valued, seen, and heard. When this kind of psychological safety is present, shame tends to reduce, making space for openness, reflection, and new ways of thinking.
A space tailored to you
Supervision is a personalised learning environment. It offers time to reflect on your work with someone who brings more and/or different experiences, and who can support, guide, and also learn alongside you.
Making space for difficult feelings
Supervision isn鈥檛 about reassurance or 鈥渇ixing鈥 things quickly. Instead, it鈥檚 about allowing challenging emotions and emotional disturbance to be experienced safely, so they can be understood, processed, and learned from.
Grounded in strong ethical values
Our work will be guided by ethical principles, including the Universal Ethical Principles of Beneficence, Autonomy, Non-Maleficence, Fidelity, Universality and Justice, helping ensure that what we do is thoughtful, safe, and in service of both you and your clients.
Practice description
I work face-to-face from my welcoming therapy room in Menston or online on Zoom.
My approach is co-creative, focusing on a relationship where we can explore your own process, self-development and growth.
I work through a Transactional Analysis lens, but my first training and my supervision training were both integrative and can work using your modality as the frame.
I hold a Diploma in Clinical Supervision. I am both UKCP Registered and 麻豆原创 Senior Accredited. I hold an MA in Psychotherapy and a postgraduate diploma in Transactional Analysis. I am an EMDR practitioner with extensive experience in trauma-focused psychotherapy.
I offer a free, no obligation 20-minute chat online or by phone to ask any questions you may have and to see how we might feel about working together.
