About me and my therapy practice

I am a lived-experience trauma-informed psychotherapist. I know how it feels to struggle with mental health and I have dedicated many years to finding a way forward - and I now share this with my clients. My blogs will explain more about my story, my ideas and feelings around certain topics and my knowledge. I have a specific passion in working with those suffering from difficult life transitions, abuse, family and relationships issues, trauma/triggers, later-life experiences, attachment issues and adverse childhood experiences. I work in my own unique and pluralistic way - meaning I adapt my sessions to fit every individual clients needs using collaboration, a vast toolbox and intuitive guidance.

鈥婦o you find that your brain just won鈥檛 switch off? Do you feel down on yourself or feel as though you just cannot get motivated? Can you see repeated patterns that affect your relationships and how you view life? Do you feel that no matter how much you try and change these patterns the same things happen again? Let me help you. I get it, and I have dedicated the last decade and more to understanding why this happens and how to gain control back.

I use a mind-body approach, meaning we sit with the effect that stress and our experiences can have on our whole system. Our thoughts can trick us - our nervous system can鈥檛. By combining the two we can process in a way that acknowledges and explores all of your experiences, both cognitive and somatic. So, it isn't just 'talking' - it's discovering who you truly are on a deep level.

I am a qualified, experienced and insured psychotherapist, and I dedicate my time to continual professional development. I work with anyone aged 16+. If you are affected by anything that is causing you distress, sadness, low mood, suicidal thoughts, depression, or anxiety - please get in touch. I have ADHD and experience of working with others with neurodivergence and I understand how this may impact your ability to engage in a therapeutic setting.

Practice description

The CPCAB Level 6 Supervision training had a relational and systemic approach and uses the seven-eyed model (Shohet, 2008). This model provides counsellors and psychotherapists with seven areas of focus that encompass the client, the therapist, the supervisor, the relationships between therapist, client and supervisor, and the wider system. The model is called 鈥渟even-eyed鈥 because it focuses on seven distinct aspects of the therapeutic process. There is also a huge focus on the IDM, which supports personal and professional growth of the counsellor by adapting feedback and teaching style to match the counsellor鈥檚 developmental level. This can foster higher levels of self-awareness, competency, autonomy, and ethical practice.

I use a whole-system approach within supervision, in a safe and non-judgemental space. I have strong safeguarding knowledge and a trauma-informed approach to supervision. I am open to exploring my modalities more in supervision if you have a particular interest. I am also neurodiverse and therefore neuro-affirming. Please enquire if you would be interested in discussing this further, and I look forward to hearing from you.

I charge 拢90 for 1.5 hours.
