About me and my therapy practice
Life can feel overwhelming, especially when you've been carrying things on your own for a long time. You may be struggling with anxiety, difficult relationships, feeling emotionally exhausted, or wondering why life seems harder than it does for other people. Perhaps you're carrying the impact of past experiences, questioning whether neurodiversity might help explain some of your struggles, or simply sensing that something doesn't feel quite right.
Therapy isn't about me having all the answers. It's about creating a space where, together, we can become curious about your experiences and discover what makes sense for you. I believe our thoughts, feelings and ways of coping always make sense in the context of our lives, even when they've begun to hold us back.
Together we'll explore how your experiences, relationships and unique way of experiencing the world have shaped the person you are today. Sometimes this means gently challenging long-held beliefs or patterns that no longer serve you. Sometimes it means discovering greater compassion for yourself. Often, it means both.
Whether you identify as neurodivergent or not, therapy is always tailored to you rather than to a diagnosis. Every person's story is unique, and I believe understanding that story is often where meaningful change begins.
Practice description
As an accredited integrative transpersonal psychotherapist with over twelve years' experience, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to meet you where you are. Rather than following a set formula, I tailor therapy to each individual because no two people experience life in the same way.
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm, low self-esteem and life transitions. I also have particular experience supporting neurodivergent clients, including those exploring whether autism or ADHD may help explain lifelong experiences. For some people, a diagnosis or label brings relief, understanding and a sense of belonging. Others come without any interest in labels at all. Both are welcome here. My interest is always in understanding you as a whole person.
Alongside depth and reflection, I bring warmth, humour and hope. I won't simply nod along. I'll ask questions, notice patterns and, where it feels helpful, gently challenge beliefs or ways of coping that may no longer serve you. My hope is that therapy becomes a place where insight, sadness, laughter and relief can all exist together, helping you move towards a life that feels more authentic and more your own.
My first session
Many people tell me they feel anxious before their first session. You might wonder where to begin, whether you'll say too much or too little, or even worry that you'll be "too much". There is no right way to start therapy, and you don't need to prepare, have everything worked out or tell me your whole story in one session. There will be time.
Our first meeting is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin thinking together about what has brought you to therapy. We'll decide together what feels most helpful.
Some people like to begin at the beginning of their story, exploring significant experiences and relationships that have shaped them. We don't need to go into everything straight away. We can simply begin to build the picture together, returning to important moments when you feel ready.
Others prefer to give me a brief overview of their history and allow deeper exploration to unfold naturally over time.
Sometimes people arrive with one pressing concern that feels overwhelming right now. In those situations, I believe it's important to honour that part of you first. If something feels urgent, we'll begin there rather than putting it aside.
If you're unsure where to start, I'll gently guide the conversation. Whatever approach we take, you'll only ever be invited to share what feels comfortable that day. Building trust takes time, and we'll find the right pace together.
