About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I鈥檓 Sophie 鈥 a therapist working with teens (14+) and adults navigating challenges like eating disorders, disordered eating, body image, anxiety, perfectionism, and low self-esteem or confidence.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I work integratively, drawing on person-centred, relational, and parts-based (IFS-informed) ways of working. This means I tailor therapy to you, rather than expecting you to fit a one-size-fits-all model. At the heart of my work is a belief in the power of feeling truly heard and understood. That might mean exploring your experiences and relationships, noticing patterns that no longer serve you, or getting to know the different parts of you 鈥 even the ones that feel stuck, critical, or hard to sit with.
Therapy with me isn鈥檛 about being diagnosed or fixed 鈥 it鈥檚 about making space to understand yourself more fully, reconnect with what matters to you, and feel more confident in making meaningful changes that support how you want to live and feel.
Whether you鈥檙e feeling caught in unhelpful patterns, exhausted by pressure to be 鈥減erfect,鈥 or struggling to feel at home in your body, therapy can be a place to slow down, reflect, and begin to move forward.
Practice description
At Soleada Sessions, I offer a reflective, affirming space where you can show up as you are 鈥 no need to have it all figured out.
Soleada stands for a girl or woman who shines from within 鈥 not because she鈥檚 chasing perfection, but because she鈥檚 rooted in self-trust. She nourishes her relationship with food, feels more present in her body, and cultivates emotional balance that helps her move through life with confidence and kindness. That鈥檚 the kind of relationship I hope to support you in building, with yourself.
You can expect:
- A calm, non-judgmental presence who listens deeply and supports you to move forward at your own pace, without pressure or expectation
- A flexible, responsive approach that honours where you鈥檙e at in each session, adapting to your needs and experiences as they arise
- Space to explore and gently understand the different 鈥減arts鈥 of yourself 鈥 like the inner critic, people-pleaser, or perfectionist 鈥 with curiosity and compassion, helping you build a kinder relationship with all of you
- Support to gradually heal and nurture your relationship with food, your body, and yourself, in a way that feels safe, respectful, and true to who you are
Many of my clients are teens and young adults who often feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or disconnected 鈥 and who rarely give themselves permission to rest or feel. If that sounds familiar, you're not alone and you're very welcome here.
Sessions are available online or in person in Warwick.
My first session
Our first session is a chance for us to meet and get a feel for what working together might be like.
You can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with 鈥 there鈥檚 no pressure to dive straight in. We鈥檒l talk about what鈥檚 bringing you to therapy, what you鈥檙e hoping for, and I鈥檒l answer any questions you might have. It鈥檚 important you feel safe and at ease, so this first session is really about getting to know each other.
If we decide to move forward, we can agree a pace and rhythm for sessions that works for you.
