Online therapy allows greater flexibility and consistency, particularly for clients balancing work, family life, neurodivergence, or long-distance relationships. I offer a free initial chat to help you decide whether we鈥檙e a good fit before committing to ongoing work.About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I鈥檓 Tracie 鈥 a down-to-earth counsellor, army veteran, and neurodivergent human. I鈥檓 a creative and integrative therapist, and I believe counselling is about one real person meeting another with honesty, respect, and compassion.
I bring both professional training and lived experience into my work. I served 14 years in the British Army and understand the pressures of high-stress environments, identity shifts, and invisible wounds. I鈥檓 also neurodivergent, with lived experience of ADHD, which gives me a deep understanding of the challenges that can affect focus, emotions, relationships, and self-worth.
I don鈥檛 see clients as problems to be fixed. I see whole people 鈥 and couples 鈥 doing their best to cope with complex lives. My style is practical, warm, and grounded. I value authenticity and believe therapy works best when you feel safe enough to be yourself. There is space for humour when it helps, and compassion when things feel heavy.
Practice description
I work integratively, meaning I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches and tailor the work to suit you. Sessions are collaborative and paced to meet your needs, whether you鈥檙e seeking support as an individual or as a couple.
I specialise in working with couples and with people affected by ADHD. ADHD can shape communication, emotional regulation, intimacy, and daily life in powerful ways 鈥 often leading to misunderstanding or frustration in relationships. I help clients make sense of these patterns, reduce shame, and develop more compassionate and workable ways of relating.
I offer online therapy, which many clients find reduces pressure and increases accessibility. Being in your own space can help with focus, regulation, and openness, particularly for neurodivergent clients. I aim to create a calm, supportive environment where you feel heard, understood, and able to explore what鈥檚 going on beneath the surface.
I work with individuals and couples experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including ADHD, relationship challenges, trauma, PTSD, anxiety, addiction, and the impact of military life.
My practice is grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens when people feel safe, understood, and respected. With couples, I support you to slow down unhelpful cycles, improve communication, and rebuild connection 鈥 particularly where neurodivergence or stress is present. With individuals, I offer space to explore identity, emotions, and patterns that may feel confusing or overwhelming.
Online therapy allows flexibility and continuity, making it easier to attend regularly and integrate therapy into everyday life. I adapt sessions to suit your needs, drawing on talk therapy, somatic awareness, and creative approaches where helpful.
My first session
Your first session is a chance for us to begin getting to know each other and to explore what has brought you to therapy. There is no pressure to share everything at once. We will move at a pace that feels manageable for you.
I鈥檒l invite you to talk about what you鈥檙e struggling with, what you hope for from therapy, and any concerns you may have 鈥 particularly if you鈥檙e new to counselling or have had mixed experiences in the past. For couples, this includes understanding your relationship dynamic and what feels most important to address.
We鈥檒l also talk about how we might work together and whether this feels like the right fit. My aim is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, respected, and clearer about the next steps.

About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I鈥檓 tracie 鈥 a down-to-earth counsellor, army veteran and neurodivergent human a creative and integrative therapist who works primarily outdoors in nature. As an ex-military professional myself, I understand the unique challenges faced by those with military backgrounds, trauma, and neurodivergence. My approach is practical, compassionate, and tailored to meet you where you are. For me, counselling is about one real human being meeting another. I don鈥檛 see you as a problem to be fixed 鈥 I see you as a whole person who deserves to be heard, understood, and supported as you find your own way forward.
For some people, sitting face-to-face can feel intense or uncomfortable. Walk-and-talk therapy is an alternative I offer in the parks around Darlington and Richmond. Walking side by side in nature often makes it easier to open up, while the rhythm of movement and the calming presence of the outdoors can help ease anxiety and bring clarity. Many clients find that being outside allows conversations to flow more naturally, while also offering the grounding and restorative benefits of nature itself. I believe healing happens best when we reconnect with our natural surroundings and our authentic selves. Together, we鈥檒l explore your story through a blend of talk therapy, somatic work, and creative techniques 鈥 all designed to help you feel grounded, seen, and supported.

About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I鈥檓 Tracie 鈥 a down-to-earth counsellor, veteran, and neurodivergent human. I鈥檓 a creative and integrative therapist who works outdoors in nature. I work mostly with women navigating ADHD, attachment difficulties, relationship struggles, break-ups, overwhelm, and big life transitions that can leave you wondering who you even are anymore. Many of my clients arrive emotionally exhausted 鈥 full of insight from books, podcasts, TikToks, and therapy tools, but still unable to put any of it into practice in real life. They鈥檝e spent years hearing things like 鈥渃ome back to yourself鈥 or 鈥渄o the inner work鈥 without anyone explaining how the hell you鈥檙e meant to do that when your nervous system is overwhelmed, your thoughts are everywhere, and you鈥檙e replaying text messages from 2017 at 2am.
My approach is practical, compassionate, and human. Therapy with me isn鈥檛 about sitting in silence while someone nods at you for fifty minutes. There鈥檚 space for honesty, swearing, messy feelings, awkwardness, and laughter too 鈥 because healing doesn鈥檛 only happen in the heavy moments. I don鈥檛 see you as something to fix. I see you as a whole person who deserves to feel understood, supported, and safe enough to begin the journey back to yourself.
For some people, sitting face-to-face can feel intense or too much. Walk-and-talk therapy is an alternative I offer around Darlington and Richmond. Walking side by side in nature can make it easier to untangle thoughts, process emotions, and speak more freely without constant eye contact. The rhythm of movement and the calming presence of the outdoors can help soothe an overactive mind and ease anxiety. Many clients find being outside helps conversations flow more naturally, while offering the grounding benefits of nature itself. Together, we鈥檒l explore your story through a blend of talk therapy, somatic work, and creative techniques 鈥 helping you feel more grounded, connected, and more like yourself again.
Practice description
I work with individuals and couples navigating ADHD, attachment difficulties, relationship struggles, break-ups, anxiety, overwhelm, trauma, and those big life shifts that can leave you feeling disconnected from yourself. A lot of the people I work with are exhausted from trying to hold everything together while quietly battling overthinking, emotional burnout, people-pleasing, rejection sensitivity, or the constant feeling that everyone else got given a handbook for life that they somehow missed.
Many clients come to me after years of listening to podcasts, saving self-help posts, and knowing all the 鈥渞ight鈥 tools 鈥 but still feeling stuck when it comes to actually using them in real life. Whether you鈥檙e newly diagnosed, questioning how your brain works, trying to untangle unhealthy relationship patterns, or attempting to keep a relationship afloat while carrying the weight of everything else, I offer a down-to-earth and honest approach that meets you where you are.
Therapy with me is human. There鈥檚 room for swearing, awkward pauses, dark humour, tears, and laughter 鈥 because healing isn鈥檛 always heavy, and sometimes the most powerful moments happen when you finally feel safe enough to just be yourself. I bring my own lived experience into the work too. I鈥檓 a veteran, neurodivergent, and someone who understands first-hand how messy, frustrating, and confusing the journey back to yourself can feel when nobody ever really explains how to do it.
If you鈥檙e looking for a therapist who feels real, gets the chaos of an overactive mind, and offers support without judgement or clinical jargon, please get in touch for a free initial chat.
