I work on a Monday and Friday at my practice in Shrewton and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday I am based at my practice just outside of Newbury.
My work hours are 09.30 - 18.30 at my Shrewton practice.
When I am fully booked, I am still happy to take on clients and add to my wait list, and contact them as soon as a space becomes available. Please note I would not ask a client to wait for more than six weeks and if your problem is deemed an emergency I would always suggest you make contact with another therapist.
It is highly recommended that an assessment is completed before new clients are taken on. Returning clients do not have to complete an assessment, as this would be incorporated into the first session.
About me and my therapy practice
Let me tell you a bit about me and what to expect.
As a qualified professional I provide a confidential and safe space for my clients to feel relaxed and welcome. I work out of two practices: Thatcham, Berkshire and Shrewton, Wiltshire. Free parking is available at both.
I am totally committed to my work as a counsellor and use empathetic listening skills to understand the issues that are presented. I work collaboratively and relationally to connect with the individual or couple and think of our work together as a partnership.
I provide help and support to clients from all levels of society to guide them through their issues. My non-judgmental work ethos is to be supportive and facilitate, you the client, toward taking control of your life. Enabling you to be the best version of yourself. Although the journey may seem testing at times, I will walk alongside you and guide you through the challenges that life can present to us. My professional approach is to reassure you and to encourage self-awareness of not being alone on your journey.
In addition to being qualified as an individual counsellor, I am a 'Relate' trained couples counsellor. I structure the work to help improve levels of communication, which provides the basis for a healthier bond and outlook in marriage and relationships, facilitating a stronger foundation to work from.
Adult relationship counselling can also beneficially support direction through the challenges of divorce and separation, especially when emotions are running high. It can help to uncover the path of autonomy and self-discovery of living as a single person, especially after being in a long or short-term relationship.
Practice description
I pride myself on practising as a professional and provide the best possible service to each and every client I work with.
I am not "pink and fluffy" therapist, as I am a firm believer in being open and honest to avoid confusion or disillusionment in my commitment to getting the best out of the work I do with my clients.
My personal values and morals are to deliver my clients with honesty, integrity and to help them find their own path to make informed choices in life.
I work with a strong competent connection with my clients to build on trust for the therapeutic relationship to develop. This, I believe, provides a solid foundation for the work to become collaborative, and a sign of my commitment to you, my client.
I passionately believe people are empowered to find their own answers with the right help and support. I am not here to ‘fix’ you and I don’t have all the answers. I might invite you to think about working from a different perspective to help you gain insight into moving forward.
I know from personal experience the dark times in life can be difficult. I am here because I have struggled myself and can speak from experience. I work carefully and sensitively to unlock difficulties and am responsive to others needs.
My process is to embrace uncertainties and tread the path of the unfamiliar, to look toward a new outcome that can be rewarding, a place of self-rediscovery with the ability to let go of the past and accept the here and now.
My first session
To ensure that I am the right counsellor to support you on your journey, and to understand your needs, I complete an assessment by phone or Zoom which takes up to 30-minutes.
I suggest a separate assessment for couples to gain a clear understanding from the individuals perspective. This is a suggestion and not definitive if the couple want to complete an assessment together that is acceptable.
There is a charge of £25 per individual, which is refunded if the decision is taken after the assessment not to proceed with counselling.
Assessments provide an invaluable opportunity for client and counsellor to work out if the relationship fit is correct.

Therapist - Stockbridge
Features
Availability
Starting January 8th, 2026, my Berkshire practice will move to Stockbridge, Hampshire. I’ll be seeing clients in a comfortable room above The Vine, an historic building with a private atmosphere. Appointments are available Thursdays and Fridays from 10:30 to 18:30. I welcome new clients from the Test Valley area, including Andover, Winchester, Romsey.
About me and my therapy practice
I work collaboratively with clients, focusing on building a strong therapeutic alliance where clients feel safe and not judged. My directive approach ensures our sessions are open and transparent, aiming to help clients regain control and make positive changes in their lives. Sessions may be short or long-term, depending on individual needs and circumstances. Issues that have persisted for some time might require longer to process. The initial session combines assessment and counselling, helping determine if we are a good fit to work together.
When you can't understand your feelings, expressing them gets harder and can affect daily life. After trying self-help books without success, I found that speaking openly with a counsellor who understands and has the right expertise made the biggest difference.
I ask my clients to commit fully to counselling and treat sessions as self-care. Together, we will shift negative thinking toward positivity, set goals, and build clarity for a new sense of direction.
