About me and my therapy practice

I work with women who feel stuck beneath the surface; navigating quiet overwhelm, difficult relationship patterns, or a loss of connection with themselves. Women who want to stop living by everyone else鈥檚 expectations and start reconnecting with themselves.

You may be feeling stuck, unsure, or quietly exhausted from trying to live up to others' expectations. Perhaps you are experiencing difficulties in your relationship, or navigating complex family dynamics. You may have recognised patterns of behaviour or relationships you long to understand and find freedom from. Maybe you feel disconnected from your own voice, and want to relate to yourself with more trust and compassion. You may have spent so much time tending to others that you're not sure how to care for yourself.

How counselling can help

Counselling is a space for profound yet gentle transformation, where you can come home to yourself, unlearn rules you never chose and build a life that feels your own. Over time you begin to live from a place that feels true to who you are.

You make choices that reflect your values, rather than the limiting expectations you鈥檝e been carrying. You stop over-performing to keep people close, and no longer feel the need to hold everything in to avoid conflict. You explore the rules you鈥檝e been living by, and new gentler, truer, and more life-giving beliefs take root. Your inner voice softens and you start to trust yourself and speak up more. You see yourself differently: no longer 鈥渢oo much鈥, but enough, worthy, whole. You stop just surviving, and start living an empowered life that fits you.

Counselling gives you time each week to slow down, hear your own thoughts, feelings and needs, and develop deeper connections and relationships. You speak with someone who is there solely to listen to and help you - it may be the first time you haven鈥檛 had to worry about someone else鈥檚 needs. Counselling allows you the opportunity and space to get in touch with who you are and what you want in life.

Practice description

My approach

My approach is relational, compassionate, and grounded in both professional and lived experience. I focus on creating a warm, empathic and caring relationship in which you feel heard, supported and accepted; helping you develop and see change in your life.

In our sessions I pay close attention to the patterns that have shaped how you relate to yourself and others. Together, we gently explore where these patterns began (from family roles to past relationships) and how they may still be influencing you today.

I believe each person is unique and has individual needs, and this is true in counselling. Therefore no one approach can work for every person. I am an integrative therapeutic counsellor, which simply means I draw from a variety of different methods and counselling theories; tailoring an approach which develops over time, to help you with what you need and where you are throughout the counselling journey.

My experience & qualifications

I have 8 years鈥 therapeutic experience supporting women navigating the kinds of struggles that don鈥檛 always show on the surface, but run deep. I have been in private practice for over 5 years, and before that I worked for two counselling agencies supporting women through long- and short-term therapy within low cost and NHS services. I have helped clients understand themselves better, gain insight into how their past has impacted their present sense of self, and feel happier in themselves, their life and relationship choices.

I am a Registered Member of the 麻豆原创 and I adhere to their Ethical Framework and Professional Conduct procedures. I spent 5 years in training, and have an MSc in Therapeutic Counselling from the University of Greenwich, and a Certificate of Higher Education in Counselling & Counselling Skills from Birkbeck College, University of London.

My first session

Whether this is your first time seeking counselling or not, it can be helpful to know what to expect. If I sound like the right counsellor for you please contact me. I will then reply to arrange a convenient time for us to have a free 20 minute phone conversation. We will use this time to discuss why you are seeking counselling, answer any questions you may have, and decide whether we would like to book a first session.

Our first session, typically called an assessment, is different from other sessions. During this session I will tend to ask more direct questions in order to get a real overview of your concerns and hopes, and discover more about who you are, where you have come from (your past relationships and experiences), and what life is like for you now.

Subsequent sessions move at your pace, shaped by what feels most relevant and important to you. I offer gentle reflections, encouragement, insight, and connections - always with care and respect. The relationship between us matters, and I aim to create a space where you feel safe enough to be real, curious, and gradually transformed.

Each session is 50 minutes long, and takes place at the same time on a weekly basis.
