About me and my therapy practice
Are you feeling overwhelmed? If you’d like to talk about your problems and feelings without worrying about being judged, I can help.
It's not always easy to talk to the people around you; maybe you think they're part of the problem or you're struggling to express what's bothering you. Maybe you want to talk freely without considering how it impacts the other person. You might feel like others wouldn't really listen, care enough or understand.
Whatever your reasons for seeking counselling, I offer a safe space to talk without any of those barriers, will listen without judgement and help you make sense of things to find a way forward.
I believe reaching out for help when you're struggling shows great strength and have helped many clients of all ages and backgrounds overcome limiting beliefs and painful experiences to make positive change.
I offer unlimited counselling and psychotherapy for a range of issues such as stress, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, anger, grief and relationship difficulties. I can also help if you're feeling stuck and unsure how to move forward.
I have experience in helping adults work through difficult and traumatic experiences including:
complex family and relationship dynamics,
parental separation and divorce,
childhood abandonment and neglect,
volatile and violent family environment,
emotional, physical and sexual abuse,
relationship communication problems and infidelity,
bereavement, loss and grief,
supporting loved ones with eating disorders,
living with undiagnosed autism and ADHD.
I do not work with couples or Covid19 bereavement.
Practice description
I run my private therapy practice from a soundproofed office in a quiet business centre. I offer face to face and online counselling using Zoom which means I can work with you wherever you are located in the UK.
I work with a relational approach, based on my firm belief that people gain genuine power and wellbeing from connection with others in healthy, respectful relationships. My practice philosophy is to provide an experience of relationship where it is safe for you to explore your feelings and heal from distress.
After an initial meeting to get a feel for whether we can work together, I will work with you to understand your reasons for coming to counselling and establish what you hope to achieve. I offer unlimited counselling and suggest clients attend a minimum of six sessions with a review to consider whether longer term work is appropriate.
Whilst my philosophy remains constant, the counselling experience with each client is as unique as they are. As an integrative therapist I draw from a variety of therapeutic models as appropriate to meet each client’s individual needs.
Above all, I aim to listen without judgement, to enable you to feel heard and understood. I don’t claim to hold all the answers but am fully committed to helping you find your own. I offer unconditional acceptance and patient support while you explore your feelings, determine a way forward or make positive change, if that's what you desire.
I am passionate about therapy and what it can do for people. Alongside my therapy practice I teach and supervise trainee counsellors and psychotherapists.
I worked closely with Â鶹Դ´ to raise awareness of the benefits of counselling and psychotherapy during the COVID19 Pandemic and sat on the Lived Experience Advisory Forum to the National Bereavement Commission. In January 2022 I was recognised by The Lancet for my contribution to raising the profile of women in the field of science and public health during that time
