About me and my therapy practice
Life can often throw so many challenges our way that can leave us feeling stuck, drained, frustrated and even hopeless. In my experience as a counsellor over the last ten years I've found that talking things through with an empathic, understanding person who listens more than they talk can have a profound impact on helping us shift this stuckness and find a path to tackling our troubles in a different and helpful way. I can offer exactly this kind of support to you online as regularly as you wish, and I am more than happy to offer a free 20 minute consultation so you can check whether I feel like the right fit for you.
Practice description
As a Person-Centred counsellor I firmly believe that each person is the expert of their own situation, and often we just need an empathetic, non-judgemental person to talk our problems through with to start getting more clarity. This increasing clarity allows us to work out how we want to face our struggles differently in a way that feels right for us. You can expect a lot of genuine compassion, active listening, heartfelt reflections, and to eventually discover your own answers rather than have someone else who isn't living your life tell you what you ought to do.
My first session
In our first session we will discuss the counselling agreement together, and the pre-therapy questionnaire I will have sent you prior to us starting therapy. Then if you are happy to proceed we will begin exploring what you would like to work on in our sessions.

About me and my therapy practice
I have been working as a clinical supervisor since September 2023 and found this to be a wonderful new addition to my work. I have many years experience prior to this in mentoring roles, such as managing and supporting a team of bereavement support volunteers. I am used to completing placement forms and training provider reviews, as my supervisory experience has included both qualified and trainee counsellors.
Practice description
As a Person-Centred practitioner I will work alongside you to explore your clinical work, in a supportive and non-judgemental way. I still remember clearly how it feels to take your first steps into counselling so if you are still training or newly qualified please trust that you will be understood and supported to find your confidence and grow as a counsellor. I believe the purpose of supervision is to support the supervisee to understand their practice with more clarity and grow into an increasingly effective therapist in a way that fits who they are and how they work. I predominantly use the Cyclical Model of supervision to maintain a good focus and support a deepening exploration of the client work. I am more than happy to discuss this in more detail in our first session.
My first session
We will discuss the supervision agreement and questionnaire to make sure we are both happy with how we will work together and what requirements you will need me to meet as your supervisor.
