About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I鈥檓 Lee.

Most of the men I work with aren鈥檛 falling apart.

They鈥檙e coping. Working. Providing. Showing up.

But underneath, something feels heavy.

You might be:

Constantly stressed but telling yourself you鈥檙e 鈥渇ine鈥

Snapping more than you want to

Numb or disconnected in your relationship

Struggling with anxiety, panic or intrusive thoughts

Carrying things from childhood, you鈥檝e never really dealt with

Feeling like you should have your life sorted by now

Many men delay therapy because they think they should handle it themselves. Or they鈥檝e tried talking before, and it didn鈥檛 go anywhere.

My approach is straightforward and grounded.

No jargon. No over-analysing. No pressure to 鈥渙pen up鈥 before you鈥檙e ready.

We focus on what鈥檚 actually happening in your life 鈥

your stress, your relationships, your anger, your anxiety 鈥

and we work practically and honestly to move things forward.

I have over 23 years鈥 experience, including NHS and private practice, working with trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, addictions, ADHD,  personality difficulties and relationship issues. For the last 15 years, my work has focused specifically on men.

Therapy with me is:

Direct but respectful

Structured when needed

Calm and steady

Sometimes challenging

Often relieving

You don鈥檛 have to perform here.

You don鈥檛 have to pretend you鈥檝e got it together.

If something isn鈥檛 working in your life anymore, we can look at it 鈥 properly.

Reaching out might feel uncomfortable.

But staying stuck usually feels worse.

If this sounds like you, get in touch.

Practice description

Alongside my private practice, I also provide counselling for a counselling service contracted by the NHS. I have in the past practised as a Drug and Alcohol specialist.

My integrative approach means that I am able to draw from a variety of models and techniques of counselling and psychotherapy to ensure that everyone who comes to see me has the opportunity to be met and understood as a unique individual. I offer online and face-to-face sessions.

My first session

I offer a free 30-minute session either face to face, via Zoom video call or by telephone where we can discuss how I can help you and you can ask any questions you may have.

If you decide that I am the right therapist for you, we can schedule our first session and discuss your expectations from therapy and how it can support you in achieving your goals.
