About me and my therapy practice

Specialising in relationships and family issues. With over 25 years’ experience, working for Relate, in education and in private practice, I cover individual, relationship and couple issues, in both indoor and outdoor settings. We explore unhelpful feelings, anxious thoughts and behaviours, using a range of different therapeutic models that best bring about the changes you want.

If you feel the need to improve a relationship or your wellbeing, gain insights and awareness and relief from your distress, please get in touch for a consultation to talk through what you would like to achieve and to see if you feel we could work together.

I often find people wonder if their own problems are somehow worthy or bad enough for them to indulge in finding help, maybe holding out for change or thinking that time will make things better on its own. My belief is that with a relatively brief focus on whatever the issue is - you can find relief and deeply significant change that allows you to lead the life you want and have the relationships you want.

Practice description

I work from a shepherd’s hut in the grounds of Frampton Court Estate. This is a very natural and private site, overlooking an orchard and the landscape of the estate, making a beautiful place to work and walk from.

Walking therapy for some people is less intense, and reduces the sense of being ‘under the spotlight’ compared to a more traditional setting. And many clients benefit from moving from indoors to outdoors within the session time. The shepherd’s hut is designed to be warm, safe, quiet and private whilst being surrounded by nature that you can experience from the hut or walk in.

Thank you.

My first session

I always offer an initial consultation, these last at least an hour.  where I gain a good sense of what you want from the sessions and we can talk through ways forward. And more importantly, you gain a sense of what I’m about, what I have to offer you and how you would feel working with me. At the end of that hour session, it’s very much your choice, there’s no obligation and we will talk through the possibilities.

Face-to-face, online Zoom and phone sessions are 60 minutes and the fees are £60 for individuals and £75 for couple sessions. Extended sessions are available too.

But if you are wondering about a consultation, I always offer a brief phone call at no cost (up to 20 minutes) so you can talk things through with me, ask any questions you might have and get a sense of what I’m about too.
