About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Lucy.
Welcome inside my therapy rooms, where you will find humour, pragmatism, honest reflection, insight and compassion. We can talk, draw, play, or pause to stare out the window. You may choose to join me in the fresh air for outdoor therapy. You decide what it means to recover and thrive.
I offer my expertise in person-centred counselling, psychodynamic theory, Existential therapy, relational neuroscience, creative arts and play therapy, mindfulness and CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), from which I create a bespoke therapeutic environment for you.
Outside my practice I am a lecturer in counselling, and I supervise postgraduate research (nspc.org.uk). The most recent research, including work on socio-culturally responsive therapy, gender, sexuality and neurodiversity, informs our sessions.
I have extensive training in child and adolescent mental health, and I am equipped to offer specialist psychotherapy to teenagers, children and parents.

My practice is open term-time only, and sessions booked in half-term blocks of 5-7 sessions.
My first session
Your introductory session with me is FREE, and can occur online, by phone or in person in my Kingsbridge rooms. Research shows that the most important factor in therapeutic success is the relationship with your counsellor. During our first session we will take the time to explore your concerns and wishes, and I will be able to offer preliminary recommendations for your steps forward. After this session you can reflect and choose how you wish to continue.
