About me and my therapy practice

I’m a Â鶹ԭ´´ Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist with thousands of hours of direct client experience. My practice is built on evidence-based online therapy, helping adults manage challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, bereavement, anger, and feeling stuck.

With thousands of hours of client work supported by specialist training at the University of Oxford, I integrate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Behavioural Activation, alongside my ongoing research into planning strategies. Clients describe me as warm, supportive, and easy to talk to, yet also direct and focused. Once we agree on a goal, I'm committed to helping you work towards it.

My approach is integrative but always grounded in empirical evidence. We’ll work together to quickly identify unhelpful thought patterns or behaviours and build practical strategies for change. If deeper roots from the past are influencing your present, we can explore them through structured, research-backed techniques.

I work exclusively online - one-to-one via video (Zoom, Teams, WhatsApp or similar) or phone - making therapy accessible for busy professionals. I’m also registered with insurance providers such as Aviva, AXA, Bupa, Cigna, Evernorth, Vitality, and WPA, with direct billing available. For self-funding clients, flexible rates and discounted packages ensure affordability without compromising quality.

Our first session is always free, giving you the chance to explore your concerns and see how we might work together. Most clients notice positive shifts within the first month, finding themselves better equipped to regain control and move towards a more intentional life.

Practice description

I provide flexible, evidence-based online therapy tailored to your goals and circumstances. Sessions are delivered remotely via Zoom, Teams, WhatsApp or other video chat platforms, at your convenience to be private, and accessible.

If you’re insured with Aviva, AXA, Bupa, Cigna, Evernorth, Vitality, or WPA, I can handle direct billing. Self-funding clients are equally welcome, with transparent 50 minute session rates and discounts for block bookings.

Therapy can be short-term (6–12 sessions) for specific goals like managing acute stress with CBT, or longer-term (20+ sessions or open-ended) for more entrenched issues, drawing on Behavioural Activation and psychodynamic insights. Reviews are built in, using validated tools to measure progress.

We usually meet weekly, either in afternoons or evenings at a consistent time that suits your schedule. Sessions start with a quick check-in on your week, then focus on actionable steps: reframing thoughts, behavioural experiments, or planning strategies backed by my ongoing research from Oxford on mood interventions.

Expect a collaborative partnership, with clear objectives set early and adapted as we go. My aim is for therapy to be effective, efficient, and rooted in the real-world challenges you face.

My first session

Our initial session is complimentary (50 minutes), designed as a low-pressure opportunity to explore your concerns and determine if we're a strong match. Conducted online usually via Zoom, (other video chat platforms are available), it's focused on understanding what’s troubling you - whether that’s anxiety, stress, low mood, or something less clear - and to get a sense of how we might work together - and gather a brief history to inform our work.

You’ll lead the conversation, while I ask focused questions to identify patterns in your thoughts, emotions, or behaviours. If helpful, we may trial a simple evidence-based technique for immediate insight or relief.

By the end, we’ll outline potential goals and discuss a tailored plan. I’ll also be upfront about whether I’m the right person to help - if not, I’ll guide you towards other resources.

There’s no obligation to continue. You’ll leave with clarity about your next steps, whether that’s working with me or exploring other support. For insurance clients, we’ll confirm coverage; for self-funding clients, I’ll outline flexible options.
