About me and my therapy practice
Hello and thank you for visiting my page. I am an experienced and Accredited Person-Centred Counsellor (Â鶹Դ´ Registered) who offers kind and compassionate counselling to adults and young people in both a face-to-face and online safe space.
Working in both private practice and in a comprehensive school, I appreciate that for many people life can be difficult and overwhelming at times, which is why choosing the right counsellor with whom to take that first step is of the utmost importance.
The Person-Centred Counselling Approach is based on the belief that we all have the capacity to solve our own problems.
The foundation of my counselling practice is based on the three core elements of empathy, kindness and compassion, and this is what I will offer in our time together.
Through active listening, calm reflection and self-exploration I will help you discover your own solutions and insights, offering guidance which can lead to positive change in your life.
Counselling can also be helpful for those individuals who are seeking personal growth in their life.
Additional Information
It was an unexpected and traumatic life event which took me on my own journey to becoming a qualified Counsellor, so I know how it feels to experience confusion and uncertainty.
Prior to becoming a counsellor, a large part of my life was spent working in industry and also volunteering in the charitable sector supporting vulnerable people.
I am committed to the improvement of mental health in society and feel fortunate as a counsellor to be in a position where offering support can change someone’s life for the better.
Best Wishes
Colin

About me and my therapy practice
Hello and thank you for visiting my page.
All counsellors and psychotherapists are required to have their own supervisor to review their work with clients, their professional and also personal development.
As someone who would be described as calm, warm and open I offer offer a collaborative and supportive approach to supervision.
In supervision we can jointly explore how you work with your clients and your own way of being.
Supervision can at times seem a place of gentle challenge but also a place of great learning and empowerment for you in your practice.
My belief is that is important that supervision should be a place to feel you are being heard and have the opportunity to grow as a therapist.
Practice description
I am a Person-Centred Therapist and Â鶹Դ´ Accredited who believes that the Person-Centred values of empathy, kindness and acceptance are an important part in my role as a supervisor.
From my counselling room in East Kilbride I can offer short or long-term supervision, which can be carried out in person or online.
As part of my supervisory practice I am happy to work with therapists who may work in a different modality and with both qualified therapists and trainees.
Please feel free to check out my website for more information about me and my way of being as a Person-Centred Centred Therapist.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss the possibility of working with me then please get in touch and I will respond within 24 hours.
My first session
Prior to beginning supervision I will ask that you complete a "Supervision Agreement" which will clarify the main aspects of our supervision together.
In our initial sessions we will take time to get to know each other and this time will also be used to understand what you would like to gain from supervision.
In some ways supervision is similar to being a therapist where the relationship between two people is fundamental for a successful outcome, and I will work with you to try and ensure the relationship flourishes.
