About me and my therapy practice
Couple's Therapy
Relationships can and should be incredibly rich, rewarding and nourishing when all parties involved have the capacity and resources to healthily navigate and nurture them, but if not, they can be triggering, painful, frustrating and disappointing, and we can get stuck in very entrenched patterns of unwanted and unhelpful behaviours.
I have found the most important qualities to enable meaningful connection and fulfilling relationships are; regulation, empathy, accountability, vulnerability, authenticity, curiosity, respect, boundaries, and good listening & communication skills. Most difficult dynamics occur when we are struggling with one or more of these elements.
It is somewhat impossible to have and to exhibit many of the above traits when we are dysregulated, so a big part of the work is discovering our triggers, creating relational safety and learning to regulate our nervous system enough to to be able to show up effectively and connect. Then we can really learn how to do things differently and develop a better understanding of ourselves, of each other and how to be better partners.

I can help you to make sense of your reactions and develop more emotional intelligence and behaviours that will benefit all of your relationships.

About me and my therapy practice
I'm a warm, empathetic therapist and I have a genuine interest and care in getting to know your world, the beliefs you hold and the meaning you make of your experiences. By exploring and understanding these, together we can recognise and transform some of the unhelpful messages that may be hurting you, holding you back or triggering unwanted behaviours.
To be seen, heard, accepted and cared for while sharing sometimes difficult or unpleasant experiences can help to heal past wounds, or cope with current struggles. I believe we all have the capacity to find the answers we need given the right conditions, so I aim to help you find the solutions or resolutions you’re looking for without labelling or pushing you in a particular direction.
People come to therapy for many different reasons but often they are dissatisfied, uncomfortable or distressed by aspects of their life and are seeking some kind of change. Therapy can help to increase self- awareness and self-acceptance in order to feel more in control and live in a more empowered and fulfilling way.
While the Person Centred approach is my foundation, I also draw on other concepts such as Transactional Analysis, Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory and more to make sense of, and create a language for what might be going on for you. This means I may introduce different ideas if they feel useful for you but this is always tailored to fit you, rather than trying to fit you to a particular theory. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and have a thorough, in depth understanding of the profound effect trauma has on the nervous system and how to work with it safely and effectively. In addition to my therapy practice, I'm also a somatic breath-work practitioner.
I work with individual adults and couples online.

About me and my therapy practice
First and foremost my priority is creating a safe, warm and accepting environment that enables the vulnerability and authenticity that is necessary for connection, healing and growth.
I have a genuine interest and care for anyone who wants to share and explore their personal experiences with me. My role is to help you understand and navigate through difficult thoughts, feelings and experiences, while offering empathy and acceptance. Together we can identify what thoughts, beliefs or behaviours are getting in the way, without judgement, so you can make conscious choices that bring you closer to having the relationship with yourself and others that you want, and live your life in a more fulfilling way.
People come to therapy for many different reasons but often they are dissatisfied, uncomfortable or distressed by aspects of themselves, their relationships or their lives, and are seeking some kind of change. I am a trauma certified therapist and I have a holistic approach. We are affected by many factors including our history, our environment, our belief systems and our neurobiology and so I draw on different theoretical approaches to help us to understand what might be causing the discomfort in a human and non-pathologising way. I originally qualified in Person Centred counselling and this is the foundation from which I work, and I also integrate other modalities such as Transactional Analysis, Attachment theory and Internal Family Systems.
I believe the best therapists have done, and continue to do the inner work themselves. I have an endless enthusiasm for meeting, exploring and nurturing different parts of myself. I remain open to and curious about what unfolds with each client, and I continue to grow alongside my clients.
