About me and my therapy practice

My experience of working with clients over the years is that, generally, people come to therapy because something isn't working in their lives. This might be a relationship, how they feel about themselves, or something happening in their wider life that has left them feeling destabilised.

I get it. I've experienced difficult times too, and I know what it's like to feel stuck, or sometimes just to be surviving. In fact, my own experiences brought me to therapy initially for support for myself. That experience grew into a passion for understanding human struggles and eventually led me to become a therapist.

We live in a time where everything moves so fast and so much is expected of us that we don't always have the time or space to stop and notice what's happening with us.Therapy gives us that space. Paying attention to what you are experiencing can be surprisingly powerful. The more we understand ourselves, the more able we are to make choices and create change.

Practice description

Finding a therapist and taking those first steps into therapy can be difficult. For me, the relationship between you and your therapist is one of the most important parts of the work. You need to feel comfortable enough to be yourself and to talk honestly.

I would encourage you to speak to a few therapists before making your decision. Shop around! The right fit matters, and the relationship becomes the vehicle for the work we do together.

My first session

When you're ready, let's have a chat. Our first meeting is a free 20-minute call. I'll get a sense of what's bringing you to therapy and what you might need, and we can both get a feel for whether we're the right fit to work together.
