About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified Psychotherapist. I offer a safe confidential space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings. Being listened to by someone empathic and non-judgemental is a powerful way for you to make sense of what is going on for you. The relationship between us in the therapy room will be integral to the work we do together in understanding your frame of reference. Sometimes this brings to the surface patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving which no longer serve you and you may want to look at what you would like to change. Together we can focus on your wants and needs and what you hope to achieve in therapy with me.
I'm trained in Transactional Analysis, a theory of personality and communication, and work integratively drawing on other models and theories to meet individual needs. My approach is relational, focusing on our relationship, and is at the heart of the work we do together in understanding how learned patterns of relating impact you in the present.
Taking that initial step to seek help and support can be scary. I offer a free 15 minute telephone call so we can discuss together how I might help you and whether you would like to meet.

About me and my therapy practice
How I Work
I see our work together as a collaborative process. From the moment we meet I will be listening and working to understand you and finding a way to relate that helps you get to know yourself. The therapeutic relationship is an open and honest forum from which to explore yourself and in turn understand how you relate to others. I invite an open dialogue about what is going on in the therapy at all times, how you feel and what you are needing as the therapy progresses. This approach facilitates us navigating bumps along the way and invites you to hold onto your own autonomy in how we are working together. It also ensures that I am tracking the changing states of what you might need from me in the therapy and for you to increasingly feel more comfortable in communicating what you are needing as these needs become known to you over time. Therapy isn't always easy, and looking closely at how you interact in the moment can feel uncomfortable. But as we build a strong, equal relationship, you will naturally start noticing how these patterns play out and improve in your day to day life.
Every person that comes into therapy is unique and so in describing how I work neither of us will know what this looks like until we meet. You will be met with empathy and understanding and it will be an opportunity for you to listen to how you feel with me and decide whether I am somebody you feel you can open up to. This is the starting point and from there we continue to build a road map of where we are going in our work together. It is ok not to know what this looks like and for some people they feel that something isn’t right in their lives, but know they need some help in working this out. Whatever is bringing you to therapy you will not be alone in making sense of yourself, and with this understanding and growing compassion towards yourself, helping you to experience a more fulfilling life.
I look forward to meeting you.
