About me and my therapy practice
Using an Integrative Approach, there are three main approaches that I choose to work with;
The foundation to my therapy is a Humanistic/Person Centered Approach. I believe that ultimately the client is the expert in the room. Each individual will know themselves the best and what they want from life - but circumstances in life can block/damage this vision. By offering warmth, understanding and by being genuine, I can help you reconnect with your inner resources to find your own way forward. I do not offer direct advice or give opinions as I believe in empowering the client to follow their own path.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) can be particularly useful for clients coping with anxiety and depression. For those clients that this may benefit we would be looking at introducing life-long tools to be used immediately and in the long term, enabling you to see a brighter future and reach your own state of balance and emotional well-being.鈥嬧
Psychodynamic counselling would look at patterns in behaviour and perhaps exploring your past. This approach stresses the importance of the unconscious and past experience in determining current behaviour. We may focus on childhood relationships with parents and/or other significant people.
As well as these approaches I have experience in Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Mindfulness.
Practice description
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor having achieved a BSC Honours Degree is Systemic Counselling at the University of South Wales. I also completed a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling at Coleg Gwent, which is a model combining elements of humanistic, psychodynamic, relational and cognitive behaviour therapy.
As a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, I strictly adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice. I hold an enhanced DBS certificate, full Indemnity Insurance and, as part of both my professional and personal care and development, I receive regular supervision.
My first session
I offer a free, 15 minute consultation via face to face, telephone or online. This allows us time to explore what you hope to achieve from therapy as well as providing you with the opportunity to see if working with me feels right for you.
Some clients are happy to proceed with a first session, but I recommend taking a consultation appointment if you are unsure about what type of therapy/therapist you are looking for.
Prior to a first session, you will receive a copy of the counselling contract so you know what to expect from the therapy sessions and counselling process.

About me and my therapy practice
Reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step, especially when life feels overwhelming, confusing, or heavy. You may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, grief, stress, relationship difficulties, or feeling like you鈥檝e lost your sense of self. Whatever brings you here, you do not have to face it alone.
I work using an integrative approach, which means I tailor therapy to you as an individual rather than using a 鈥渙ne size fits all鈥 method.
At the heart of my work is a Humanistic, Person-Centred approach. I believe you are the expert in your own life, even if things feel unclear right now. Life experiences, loss, stress, or difficult relationships can disconnect us from ourselves and our confidence. My role is to offer a warm, safe, and non-judgemental space where you feel heard and understood, helping you reconnect with your own strengths and find your way forward.
I do not give direct advice or tell you what to do. Instead, I work alongside you, helping you explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences so you can make choices that feel right for you.
I also draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which can be helpful for anxiety and depression, offering practical tools to manage overwhelming thoughts and emotions.
Psychodynamic counselling can help explore deeper patterns in behaviour, relationships, and self-esteem, including how past experiences may be shaping the present.
I also have experience in Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and Mindfulness, allowing me to adapt our work to best support your individual needs.
Above all, I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can be fully yourself - without pressure, judgement, or expectation.
