As a retired solicitor with a Masters in Mental Health Law and former specialist member of the Law Society's Children Panel and Mental Health Panel, I'm now a Â鶹ԭ´´-accredited therapeutic coach offering a unique combination of legal expertise and therapeutic skill.

I work Mondays and Tuesdays, 9am-5pm, providing therapeutic coaching for legal professionals, individuals navigating divorce, neurodivergent adults, and young people aged 16-25. My practice serves clients online across the UK, with in-person sessions in Cardigan, West Wales.

Email me to arrange an introductory therapeutic coaching session (£135) with no obligation to continue. We can explore whether my combined legal and therapeutic background suits your needs. If we're not the right match, my professional networks allow me to suggest alternatives.

I aim to reply to messages the same day.

My Approach

With qualifications in Integrative Psychotherapy, Relationship Counselling (Masters level), and Children & Young People's Therapy, I use CBT, psychodynamic therapy, attachment theory, and DBT. I'm qualified in addiction counselling and trained in motivational interviewing and ecotherapy.

As a neurodivergent person of colour, BAATN member, and LGBTQ+ affirming practitioner, I provide culturally aware, neuro-affirming therapeutic coaching.

Specialisms

I support anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, divorce coaching, ADHD, autistic individuals, PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance), sensory processing, workplace stress, university transitions, career anxiety, identity exploration, late diagnosis adjustment, burnout recovery, and substance use challenges. My legal background helps clients navigate family court dynamics, custody arrangements, financial settlements, and co-parenting without providing legal advice.

Professional Standards

Unlike unregulated coaching, I'm fully accountable through Â鶹ԭ´´ accreditation and Association for Coaching membership. I'm also a clinical supervisor.

About me and my therapy practice

SPECIALISMS

Divorce & Separation Coaching

As a retired family law solicitor and qualified psychotherapist, I provide divorce coaching that combines legal strategic thinking with therapeutic support. I ran a successful divorce practice and understand how destabilising relationship breakdown can be—I've navigated my own divorce, which knocked me sideways despite my legal background.

I understand family court dynamics and financial settlement negotiations. While I don't provide legal advice, my legal background helps you strategise through custody arrangements and co-parenting challenges. You can regain clarity, redraw boundaries, and rebuild confidence during this vulnerable time.

Relationship Therapy

I help couples and individuals break cycles of connection and disconnection, drawing on therapeutic training and legal experience in relationship breakdown. I support you in transforming stuck thinking, addressing anxiety and depression, and determining your future path.

If separation becomes necessary, I help you navigate the split with minimal emotional and financial damage, making intelligent choices that protect your wellbeing.

Neuro-Affirming Therapy

As a neurodivergent therapist, I work with autistic, ADHD, and otherwise neurodivergent clients. I understand neurodivergency as a different operating system with sensitivities that can make daily life challenging.

Whether diagnosed, self-identifying, awaiting assessment, or questioning, I provide individualised, affirming support. We explore sensory processing difficulties, social connection challenges, workplace accommodations, masking behaviours, and burnout while developing practical coping strategies.

I also support partners, parents, and carers of neurodivergent individuals.

Young People & Emerging Adults

With an Advanced Certificate in Children & Young Person's Therapy, I work with young people aged 16-25, supporting university transitions, career anxiety, identity development, and relationship challenges.

Practice description

How I Work

I love working online with clients—you can experience therapy from your own home, maybe in your PJs with a hot drink, or while in your car (parked) or walking in the park as long as you have privacy. Research shows online therapy can be as effective as in-person sessions with significant additional benefits.

I formulate individualised approaches using humanistic person-centred therapy, neuroscience, mindfulness, and evidence-based methods tailored to your specific needs and circumstances.

Unique Expertise

My three decades of experience span both legal and therapeutic domains. I was Law Society accredited in mental health law and child protection, working in High Court, forensic mental health settings, and prisons. This background gives me expertise in complex situations beyond most counsellors.

I've worked with people experiencing extreme behaviours resulting from trauma and psychological distress. Nothing about the human condition surprises me—I'm exceptionally non-judgmental and validating.

What to Expect

Whether you're a legal professional understanding systemic pressures, someone navigating family court proceedings, or exploring neurodivergent identity, I bring both professional insight and lived experience to our work together.

I have lived experience within the LGBTQ+ community and understand queer and same-sex relationship dynamics. My neurodivergent perspective informs my approach to supporting other neurodivergent individuals.

Commitment to Excellence

I'm committed to maintaining the highest therapeutic standards through continuous learning, training, research, and resource development outside client sessions. This ensures you receive current, evidence-based support informed by the latest developments in both therapeutic practice and legal understanding.

My practice integrates decades of legal experience with advanced therapeutic training, creating a unique space for healing, growth, and practical problem-solving.

My first session

Initial Meeting

I offer a 60-minute introductory session (£135) for new clients. This gives us opportunity to explore whether we're a good fit, understand what's brought you to seek support, and discuss how my combined legal and therapeutic background might help.

For young people, I initially speak with referring parents or caregivers to explore concerns before deciding how to proceed.

What to Expect

I understand discussing unspoken worries can feel daunting, especially if you've never had therapy before. I'll listen to your story, ask relevant and curious questions, and explore how to make sense of your life, hopes, and goals. We'll collaborate on what you'd like to change.

I don't have an agenda—I'm not here to advise or influence your beliefs, choices, or decisions. I see my role as accompanying you to find your own solutions while bringing my unique perspective as someone who understands both legal systems and psychological processes. I integrate somatic awareness and yoga principles into my practice.

I'll help ease any shame or embarrassment with warmth, compassion, wisdom, and humour. I'm extremely down-to-earth and won't be shocked by strong language or raw emotions—say it however you need to say it. We'll explore difficult issues and you'll gain insights into psychological patterns you may be unaware of, helping you stop repeating unhelpful cycles.

Moving Forward

After our first session, if we choose to work together, there are no set number of sessions. I offer weekly sessions lasting as long as you need—both short-term and long-term approaches available. I'm committed to helping you achieve goals as quickly and sustainably as possible.

About me and my therapy practice

My Credentials

Certified to Masters level in the field of mental health, I'm a qualified lawyer and an established, accredited psychotherapist. I have over three decades of training and experience, initially as a mental health and family solicitor, and since 2006, an individual and relationship therapist.

Research shows that online therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy and has significant benefits.

I use evidence based therapies like humanistic person-centred therapy, attachment theory, neuroscience, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing and Mindfulness to formulate a therapy that's most beneficial to you.

I am affirming of, and have lived experience of the LGBTQ+ community, queer and same sex relationships.

Other Relevant Expertise

I was accredited by the Law Society in mental health law and child protection law, and recognised as an expert in these fields.

I have worked with people with extreme and dangerous behaviours as a result of their traumas and psychological ill health. Nothing about the human condition surprises me and I am exceptionally non-judgmental and validating.

SPECIALISMS

Divorce Coaching

I'm a qualified solicitor who ran her own successful family law practice for many years. Now retired, my knowledge of how exes behave when relationships breakdown and my understanding of the legal system is invaluable. Although I do not offer legal advice, I understand how to support you when in the throes of acrimony over finances or arrangements for the children. You won't have to go through this scary experience alone.

I am qualified to work with the psychological impact of the breakdown of your relationship, I'll help you think straight, redraw boundaries and rebuild your confidence and sense of self.

If you are looking to separate, I can help to mediate the split as painlessly as possible

Neuro-Affirming Therapy

I identify as a neurodivergent therapist. Many of my clients are autistic, ADHD or otherwise neurodivergent. I don’t see neurodivergency as a disorder, but a different operating system, with sensitives which can make day to day life a challenge.

Whether you are diagnosed, self-identifying, waiting for an assessment, or questioning if you are neurodivergent, I can work with you in an individualised, affirming and holistic way, helping you to navigate living in a world that does not always make sense or sends you out of your comfort zone.

We can explore sensory issues, difficulties connecting with others or burnout and experiment with different ways of coping, and practical new skills.

Young People & Emerging Adults

I have an Advanced Certificate in Children & Young Person's Therapy and use my skills to work with young people 16 years+.

My first session

I believe every individual is unique, so I offer a 60-minute "taster" session for new clients. This initial meeting gives us an opportunity to see if we're a good fit, for me to learn more about you, what has brought you to counselling and how I can help.

With young people, I will speak to the referring parent or caregiver initially to explore the issues before deciding how to proceed in session.

I get that talking about your unspoken worries can be daunting, especially if you have never had therapy before.

I will listen to your story, ask relevant and curious questions, explore with you how to make sense out of your life, your hopes and your goals and collaborate with you about what you'd like to change. I am not here to advise or influence your beliefs, choices, or decisions. I see my role as accompanying you to find your own solutions.

I'll help you dispel any shame or embarrassment and put you at ease. I'm warm, compassionate and wisdom and humour. We'll tease out the difficult stuff and you'll gain insights into your psychological process that you're unaware of, so you can stop repeating unhelpful patterns.

After the first session, if we choose to work together, there are no set number of sessions. I love to work online with clients, so if you are physically distant from my office, you can experience therapy with me from the convenience of your own home, maybe in your PJs, with a hot drink in hand. Or we can meet whilst you are at work or walking in the park, as long as you can find privacy.

I worked in the High Court, forensic mental health settings and prisons, and have expertise and knowledge of complex situations beyond that of most other counsellors. I have worked with people with extreme and dangerous behaviours as a result of their traumas and psychological ill health. Nothing about the human condition surprises me and I am exceptionally non-judgmental and validating.

I'm committed to maintaining the highest levels of therapeutic service and regularly engage in learning outside of clients’ sessions, including training, research and gathering resources to support them.

I offer weekly counselling that lasts as long as you need it and I offer both short-term and long-term therapy, as you prefer. I am committed to working with clients to achieve their goals as quickly and sustainably as possible.

Availability & Booking

My Approach

With qualifications in Integrative Psychotherapy, Relationship Counselling (Masters level), and Children & Young People's Therapy, I use CBT, Jungian and attachment theory and DBT. I'm qualified in addiction counselling and trained in motivational interviewing and ecotherapy.

As a neurodivergent person of colour, BAATN member, and LGBTQ+ affirming practitioner, I provide culturally aware, neuro-affirming therapeutic coaching.

Specialisms

I support anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, divorce coaching, ADHD, autistic individuals, PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance), sensory processing, workplace stress, university transitions, career anxiety, identity exploration, life reviews,  late diagnosis adjustment, burnout recovery, and substance use challenges.

I aim to reply to messages the same day.

About me and my therapy practice

SPECIALISMS

Divorce Coaching

As a retired family law solicitor and qualified psychotherapist, I provide divorce coaching combining legal strategic thinking with therapeutic support.

As a neurodivergent therapist, I work with autistic, ADHD, and other neurodivergent clients. I understand neurodivergency as a different operating system with sensitivities that can make daily life challenging.

Whether diagnosed, self-identifying, awaiting assessment, or questioning, I provide individualised, affirming support. We can explore sensory processing difficulties, social connection challenges, workplace accommodations, masking behaviours, and burnout while developing practical coping strategies.

How I Work

I love working online with clients. You can experience therapy from your own home, maybe in your PJs with a hot drink, or while in your car (parked) or walking in the park as long as you have privacy. Research shows online therapy can be as effective as in-person sessions with significant additional benefits.

I formulate individualised approaches using humanistic person-centred therapy, neuroscience, and evidence-based methods tailored to your specific needs. I integrate somatic awareness and yoga principles into my practice.

Nothing about the human condition surprises me. I'm exceptionally non-judgmental and validating.

What to Expect

Whether you're a legal professional or executive dealing with high-pressure work environments, someone navigating family court proceedings, or exploring neurodivergent identity, I bring both professional insight and lived experience to our work together.

This ensures current, evidence-based support informed by the latest developments in both therapeutic practice and legal understanding.

My practice integrates decades of legal experience with advanced therapeutic training, creating a unique space for healing, growth, and problem-solving.

My first session

Initial Meeting

I offer a 60-minute introductory session (£135) for new clients. This gives us opportunity to explore whether we're a good fit, understand what's brought you to seek my support, and discuss how my combined legal and therapeutic background might help.

I'm extremely down-to-earth and won't be shocked by strong language or raw emotions: say it however you need to say it, bring all of you. We'll explore difficult issues and you'll gain insights into psychological patterns you may be unaware of, helping you stop repeating unhelpful cycles.

Moving Forward

After our first session, if we choose to work together, there are no set number of sessions. I offer weekly therapeutic coaching lasting as long as you need—both short-term and long-term approaches available. I'm committed to helping you achieve goals as quickly and sustainably as possible.
