How to Arrange Your Introduction

Once you have submitted your initial enquiry, I will reach out using your preferred contact method. During this communication, I will confirm your preferred way to conduct the introduction—whether by telephone, Zoom, or in person. I will also ask you to suggest dates and times that best suit your schedule for the introductory meeting.

No Pressure to Decide

There is no expectation for you to make a decision about proceeding during or immediately after the introduction. If you would like time to consider your options, you are welcome to get back in touch with me after the initial meeting has taken place.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an accredited and experienced integrative person-centred therapeutic counsellor. I offer a warm, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you are free to talk and assured that you will be listened to. I believe in the importance of making you feel comfortable and respected, and my commitment is to support you throughout your therapeutic journey.

Recognising that each individual is unique, I tailor every session to meet your specific needs. This personalised approach is designed to help you develop stronger and more positive internal resources, empowering you to pursue a more fulfilling life.

I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients, addressing various issues across different settings. My experience spans working with children, young people, and adults within charitable organisations, educational environments, and the NHS. I recognise that the challenges people face are often complex and can impact individuals in different ways.

I am experienced in providing therapeutic support to autistic children, young people, Individuals with ADHD, or have a dual diagnosis.

Every autistic individual and every person with ADHD is unique. While there are shared traits associated with each condition, these traits impact differently from person to person. Therefore, your therapy is tailored to your needs.

I understand that Autistic individuals can face challenges in social communication, forming relationships, understanding emotions (alexithymia), and managing sensory processing differences and executive functioning difficulties. Similarly, people with ADHD can struggle with concentration, task completion, emotional regulation, impulse control, and social interactions, including issues like Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria (RSD).

I have worked with and supported individuals experiencing a wide range of difficulties and issues, as detailed in the 'What I Can Help With' section below.

Practice description

I adopt an integrative approach in my therapeutic work, drawing upon my academic background in psychology, my training in person-centred therapy, and a variety of other methodologies in which I am knowledgeable. These include the psychodynamic approach, attachment theories, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). I am also a qualified ADHD Coach. I am able to draw upon this knowledge to all me to adapt my practice to the unique needs of each individual I support. 

My practice is rooted in person-centred principles; I collaborate closely with each client I work with to help an individual to develop a deeper understanding of themselves.

I also support clients in implementing practical techniques to manage daily life, advocate for themselves, and discover ways to improve their overall quality of life, emotional wellbeing, mental health, confidence, and self-esteem. Please see my website for more information.


My first session

Introduction to Your First Session

Your initial session will primarily focus on assessment. During this meeting, I will gather more detailed information about you, which will help us to identify your goals for therapy. We will discuss the specific issues you wish to address and explore how you would like to move forward throughout the therapeutic process. This first session is also a space for you to raise any questions you may have about therapy or the way we will work together.

I will always work at a pace that suits you, focusing on the concerns you wish to bring to each session. The direction and content of our sessions will be shaped by what you feel comfortable discussing and prioritising.

Working with Children and Young People

When working with children and young people, I use a variety of engaging methods tailored to each individual. These may include play, arts and crafts, sensory play, worksheets, and talking therapy. During the assessment session, we will discuss the child or young person's preferred activities and any special interests. This helps ensure that sessions are personalised, making it easier for each child or young person to feel comfortable and engaged.

Addressing Anxieties Around Therapy

If a child, young person, or adult feels anxious about attending sessions, we can work together to find ways to reduce anxiety related to engagement. The aim is to break down any barriers or difficulties that may hinder your involvement in therapy, helping you to feel more at ease as we work together.
