About me and my therapy practice

I have spent 10 years working as a person-centred counsellor and have now combined these skills with my passion for health to create Harmony Health Coaching.

My clients’ needs are always at the heart of my practice, whether I am supporting clinical staff in my NHS work or working with clients on their own journey towards improved health and wellbeing.

I work collaboratively with my clients, creating a supportive space where you can feel listened to, understood and safely guided. While I bring my knowledge, experience and expertise to our work together, I believe strongly that you remain at the centre of the process. Your autonomy, values and individual circumstances are important in creating an approach that feels achievable and sustainable for you.

Our initial session will involve taking a detailed health history and exploring your current concerns, lifestyle and goals. Together, we will identify the areas you would most like to work on and develop a personalised plan that reflects what matters to you and what feels realistic within your life.

Safety and ethical practice are central to the way I work. I am clear about the boundaries of my role and expertise, and where appropriate I may recommend that you speak with your GP or another healthcare professional. This ensures that you receive the most appropriate support while we focus on the areas where health coaching can be most helpful.

Practice description

Health coaching is a holistic approach that looks at the different factors that influence our health and wellbeing. I combine my knowledge of health, nutrition, fitness and lifestyle with my experience as a person-centred counsellor to support clients in making positive and sustainable changes.

I can support you to explore areas such as nutrition, physical activity, weight management, stress, sleep, energy levels, digestive health and blood sugar balance, as well as the wider lifestyle factors that can affect how you feel. This may include looking at your work, relationships, home environment, routines and the ways in which stress or emotional wellbeing may be influencing your health.

Rather than providing a one-size-fits-all programme, I work with you to understand your individual circumstances, identify what you would like to change and explore practical steps that feel achievable for you. We can look together at the habits, thoughts, behaviours and circumstances that may be helping or hindering your progress, and develop strategies that can be incorporated into your everyday life.

My counselling background is an important part of this approach. I understand that knowing what we should do to improve our health does not always mean that making changes is easy.

Habits can be deeply established, and factors such as stress, emotions, confidence, motivation and life circumstances can all influence our ability to make and maintain change.

My aim is to provide a supportive, non-judgemental space where you can develop a better understanding of your health, feel more empowered to make informed choices, and work towards changes that are realistic and sustainable for you.

My first session

The first session with me will involve taking a case history of your health and lifestyle, so that we can assess where you are at present and where you would like to be.  After this session, you will receive a full report of what we have discussed, including a coaching plan to follow that will enable you to work towards your goals.

All sessions are 1 hour long and can be conducted on Microsoft Teams or at a suitable face-to-face meeting point, such as a place of work.  My charges are £100 for the first session and £75 per session thereafter.

I typically work on a six session basis to begin with as this gives us enough time to make impactful changes, but does not tie you into a long-term commitment.

In order to make longer-term and more sustainable change we can then work together on an on-going basis.  The important aspect of this is that you remain completely autonomous and are free to leave the process at any time, if you so wish.
