About me and my therapy practice

My name is Hannah, and I am an Integrative Counsellor and Registered Member of the Â鶹ԭ´´ (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).

I specialise in supporting adults and children and young people affected by trauma, including sexual abuse, domestic abuse, and the longer-term emotional impact of these experiences. I also work with anxiety, grief, relationship difficulties, and challenges related to self-esteem and emotional wellbeing.

I offer a consistent, stable and supportive therapeutic relationship, where you can explore your experiences at a pace that feels safe for you. This may include both present-day difficulties and past experiences that continue to affect how you feel today.

My approach is person-centred and integrative, which means I adapt how I work to meet your individual needs. You remain at the centre of the process, and together we can explore what feels most helpful for you. I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, including CBT-informed techniques, to support understanding, emotional regulation, and change.

I am also trained in the Flash Technique, a gentle trauma-focused method that can help reduce the distress associated with traumatic memories without requiring you to describe or relive the details of what happened.

Practice description

My understanding of mental health is grounded in both academic study and extensive professional experience. I hold a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from Bournemouth University, where I specialised in attachment theory, alongside a professional counselling qualification.

I am qualified to work therapeutically with children aged 10 and above and have over 20 years’ experience supporting children and young people in a variety of professional roles. My training in Child Development and Child Psychology also informs my work with parents and families, particularly where there are emotional or relational difficulties at home.

My clinical experience spans a wide range of clients and presentations. I began my career in addiction services before specialising in trauma work, supporting survivors of domestic abuse, coercive control, and sexual abuse within a specialist charity setting. I am currently the Therapeutic Lead at a local charity, where I oversee and support trauma-informed therapeutic work.

Alongside my counselling practice, I deliver specialist training on trauma, sexual abuse, and domestic abuse for organisations and professionals.

My first session

If you’re looking for a warm, friendly and experienced counsellor, I’d be pleased to hear from you for an initial no-obligation phone call.

I offer a free 30-minute initial consultation over the phone. This gives us the opportunity to talk about what has brought you to therapy and to explore whether we feel comfortable working together.

If you choose to continue, your first full session will also include an initial assessment. This is a gentle, collaborative process where we explore your current difficulties, background, and what you hope to gain from therapy, helping us think together about how best to support you moving forward.

My session fee is £60. Payments can be made in advance via BACS or in cash on the day.

I understand that circumstances can change. If you ever experience financial difficulty during our work together, please let me know so we can talk openly and consider the best way forward.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative therapist and clinical supervisor with extensive experience working across a wide range of mental health difficulties, with a particular specialism in trauma, including childhood sexual abuse and domestic abuse.

I offer clinical supervision that is relational, reflective and integrative in approach. I aim to provide a safe and supportive space where supervisees can think deeply about their client work, develop clinical confidence, and explore both the emotional and practical aspects of practice.

My clinical background includes over 20 years’ experience working with children, young people and adults in a range of settings, which informs my supervisory work.

Alongside my supervision practice, I also deliver training in trauma-informed practice and domestic abuse awareness for a range of organisations, including my role as Therapeutic Lead at a local charity.

Practice description

As a supervisor, I draw on my training and experience within mental health to offer both practical support and professional guidance in relation to client work.

Supervision with me may include formulation, exploration of therapeutic interventions, ethical reflection, and support with complex client presentations.

I place importance on the supervisory relationship as the foundation for reflective and effective practice and I am equally committed to creating a trusting supervisory space where supervisees feel able to bring both professional and personal responses that may arise in their work. I am mindful of supervisee wellbeing and aim to support both personal and professional development.

I believe that effective supervision is grounded in a strong working relationship. My approach is warm, collaborative and approachable, with the aim of creating a space where you feel able to reflect openly and honestly on all aspects of your client work.

My first session

Finding the right supervisor is an important part of professional development. If you would like to explore whether we might be a good fit, I offer a free 30-minute informal conversation to discuss your needs and what you are looking for in supervision.

If you decide to proceed, my fee is £60 per hour, with sessions available either face to face or online via Zoom.

Please feel free to get in touch if you would like to arrange a conversation or find out more.
