About me and my therapy practice
I have been established in Private Practice since 2006 providing integrative counselling, Hypnotherapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I have a Masters in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and I work with adults age18 and over. I provide integrative therapies tailored to the individual alongside CBT. I now work part time as a therapist as of 2024 and part time as a Funeral Celebrant www.catherinewalshcelebrant.co.uk I do have twelve slots available each week as per the hours above and a waiting list should these slots be full, please don't hesitate to ask.
To share and put perspective on life and have someone listen in a non-judgmental and empathic way is a gift within your reach, the solutions to your growth and healing are within you, they are perhaps hidden in unknown territory or restrained by fear and pain? I shall support you in finding the answers within you. No problem is too big or small for counselling, what is important is how your life is being affected by what is going on for you at this time. Seeking help is a strength not a weakness and once you have taken the first step you will begin and continue to grow and heal.
I work under the code of ethics of the Â鶹Դ´ (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and I am registered with the ICO (independent Commissioners Office). I am also an Accredited therapist with the Â鶹Դ´ and fully insured.
Practice description
I have a designated area within my home with a separate entrance, there is ample parking at the side and a bus stop 5 minutes walk away, I am a 5 minute taxi ride and 10 minutes walk from the nearest train station (Wigan North western & Wigan Wallgate). I am centrally located 5 minutes from Wigan Pier and 10 minutes from Wigan Town Centre. There is no toilet facilities at this current time.
My first session
The first session is both an assessment and an opportunity to build trust and rapport, to formulate a plan of how we will work together to achieve your goals and look at the best way forward for you to both heal and grow and achieve from therapy what you wanted. To be able to bring closure or to find the confidence you longed for, to find a way forward together one step at a time. To walk away with Hope is all I ask of a first session.
