About me and my therapy practice

I help people who feel overwhelmed to find a better balance between caring for themselves and managing their relationships鈥攕o they can live calmer, more meaningful, and fulfilling lives.

Do you often feel like you鈥檙e holding everything together on the outside, while struggling on the inside? Are you navigating a family situation that鈥檚 taking up all your emotional energy? Maybe you鈥檙e dealing with anxiety, feeling constantly on edge, or finding it hard to truly relax.

I offer a calm, supportive space where you can explore your situation and how it鈥檚 affecting you. Together, we can work to understand what鈥檚 going on, find ways to cope, and help you reconnect with yourself鈥攊n your relationships with family, friends, and colleagues. I aim to support you as you decide what steps feel right for you.

With seven years of counselling experience in schools, and four years working with adults, I鈥檝e worked with children, young people, and families facing challenges such as anxiety, neurodiversity, bereavement, and family conflict. My own experience of grief鈥攁nd the kind, compassionate support I received through counselling鈥攊nspired me to train as a therapist. Earlier in my career, I worked in family law, where I often witnessed the emotional pain that legal processes couldn鈥檛 resolve. These experiences have shaped my understanding of how valuable it is to have a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported.

Counselling helped me move from a place of stress and overwhelm to one of calm and clarity. I would be honoured to offer you the same kind of compassionate support鈥攖o help you navigate life鈥檚 challenges and move forward at your own pace.

Please feel free to email me to arrange a free, no-obligation introductory call.

Practice description

My core training is in Person-centred therapy; so your counselling is led by you. I won鈥檛 direct the sessions or tell you what you should do鈥攊nstead, I鈥檒l support you as you explore whatever you choose to bring. This may be thoughts, feelings, relationships, or experiences that are affecting you right now.

My role isn鈥檛 to find answers and fix things for you, but to walk alongside you as you find your own way through. Together, we can explore your experiences and beliefs, and help you build greater self-awareness, confidence, and clarity. This can empower you to make meaningful choices, face life鈥檚 challenges, and move forward in a way that feels right for you.

I may offer creative approaches, such as using imagery, objects, or visual metaphors, if that feels helpful to you. These can sometimes support expression when words are hard to find, or offer new ways of understanding your experience.

I believe that you are the expert on your own life. My aim is to offer a safe, supportive space where you can feel accepted and heard鈥攏o matter what you bring. From there, real growth and change can begin.

If you are ready to get in touch and find out if this is the next step for you, I have spaces at the moment. You are welcome to email me to arrange an introductory call.

My first session

Before we begin working together, I offer a free 30-minute phone call. This is a chance for you to share what鈥檚 bringing you to therapy and to get a sense of how I work. It鈥檚 also an opportunity for you to reflect on whether I might be the right therapist for you at this time. We can talk about what you鈥檙e hoping for from therapy and explore whether we feel a good 鈥渇it鈥 working together.

If you decide to book a session, I鈥檒l send you my contract and terms and conditions for you to read in your own time. I鈥檓 happy to answer any questions you may have about these before or during our first session.

In the first session the focus is on creating a calm, non-judgmental space where you can begin to unpack what鈥檚 been feeling overwhelming.

I鈥檒l ask for some basic information about your health and the support networks in your life. We鈥檒l also take time to discuss any  questions you might have about the way I work, or the practicalities of our sessions together, such as confidentiality.

Many people start counselling when they鈥檙e feeling stuck, experiencing emotional exhaustion or juggling too many responsibilities. During this initial meeting, I take time to listen carefully to your concerns and gather an understanding of what鈥檚 contributing to your stress鈥攚hether it鈥檚 relationships, life transitions, work or internal pressures. We鈥檒l explore what you would like to bring to counselling, and how you would like to work together to bring greater calm, clarity and a sense of control.
