About me and my therapy practice
Registered & Senior Accredited with Â鶹Դ´.
Registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council.
Long-standing experience in NHS and Higher Education. Employed within the University of Cambridge.
Psychotherapy, Counselling & Supervision. Individuals and couples.
I am able to offer appointments in Oxford, Cambridge, or online.
Practice description
My practice provides a secure, private and therapeutic space where difficulties can be examined, understood and worked through. New perspectives and ways of thinking are discovered, which usually brings lasting change. Psychodynamic thinking understands links between the past and the present and how our experiences today are influenced by our experiences in the past.
I hold an MSc in psychodynamic counselling & psychotherapy and am registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) as a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist. I am also a Senior Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (Â鶹Դ´). My clinical work is supervised by experienced senior psychotherapists meeting BPC and Â鶹Դ´ requirements.
I work with individuals and couples to provide one-off exploratory consultations, short/long-term or open-ended therapy. I am a supervisor of counsellors, psychotherapists and other healthcare, academic, social work and emergency service professionals.
My clinical training was within the National Health Service, where I have worked for many years as a counsellor & psychotherapist. NHS practice provides a broad, wide-ranging experience at the front line of emotional, mental and physical health, which I draw on in private practice. I have worked within the NHS and wider private healthcare setting in various roles since 1994, when I initially trained as a Registered Nurse.
I work in the HE sector at the University of Cambridge, offering counselling, psychotherapy, group work, training and clinical supervision. My clinical work is supervised by experienced senior psychotherapists meeting BPC and Â鶹Դ´ requirements.
Alongside my NHS, university, and private practice, I also have experience working as a counsellor and supervisor at charities such as Cogwheel, London Friend, London Lesbian and Gay Switchboard and The Samaritans.
