Practice description

VIDEO and TELEPHONE appointments from the comfort of your home, car, while you walk.

I am qualified with a BSc Therapeutic Counselling and Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

10 years experience as a counsellor.

20 years experience supporting people with their mental health. I've worked with a range of diverse clients, from all walks of life at Doncaster Mind, SARSVL, Rethink and Touchstone Leeds.

Special Interests include:

Women’s mental health – acknowledging the impact of hormones on your day day life: mood, energy levels, ability to cope with life /stress – pms, pmdd or peri menopause/menopause and its impact on your mental and physical well-being. As someone with endometriosis who experienced an early menopause and pmdd symptoms I understand how traumatic it can be - anxiety that comes out of nowhere, irritability, anger, lacking energy and motivation, brain fog - struggling to cope with the stress of everyday life - and that’s without even mentioning the physical changes - affecting your ability to do your job, your relationships, your fertility, your family and your sense of who you are.

Bereavement and loss, whether that's the loss of a loved one - partner, parent, sibling- miscarriage, relationship or a precious pet. Acknowledging the many other losses we experience in life - disability, chronic health issues , divorce, job loss, childless by circumstance, parents who weren't what you needed, not living the life you thought you would - you are allowed to feel that loss and acknowledge what you've missed, how much it hurts, grieve and heal.

Neurodivergence: – ADHD or Autistic - newly diagnosed, late diagnosed, or undiagnosed and wondering if maybe... that might be you? I can support you to explore your experiences and start to understand and accept yourself.

Other qualifications:

Certificate in Bereavement Counselling

Mental Health First Aid Certificate

Certificate in Community Mental Health Care and Certificate in Leadership and Management

My first session

Get in touch now to Book a FREE 20 min telephone consultation.

I will get back to you ASAP usually within 48 hours, though this may take longer at weekends or bank holidays.

You will have a chance to tell me a bit about what’s happened to make you consider counselling and ask me any questions you might have.

I will ask you some questions to help me understand your needs and tell you more about how I work, and we can decide if we can work together - discuss availability, frequency, cost.

After our chat - You can go away and think about it or book your first appointment. Once your first session is booked I will email you some paperwork to complete or we can do this in our first session together.
