About me and my therapy practice

What if life could be different and you were no longer stuck in unhelpful patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving? What if issues such as trauma, abuse, neglect, depression, anxiety and stress no longer hindered your growth and healing? What if you could acknowledge the pain of past experiences and find ways of letting them go? What kind of life would you choose to live instead? Could you dare to dream of a different way of being and reach for what currently feels impossible? By seeking help at this time, you have an awareness that there is more to life and you are ready to embrace a different future.

My goal for you is that within the safety of our therapeutic relationship there is honest exploration and understanding of who you have been up until now, and why you made those now outdated adaptations. Your self-acceptance will then enable you to change and develop a different way of being, whereby you become the authentic person you always felt you could be.

You are welcome to email me to arrange a free short telephone call. Sessions last up to 60 minutes via Zoom or telephone only. Fee: sliding scale £70-90

Practice description

I am an experienced person-centred trained and registered Counsellor and also a Clinical Supervisor. Training includes working with narcissistic abuse, complex trauma, internal family systems (IFS), race, sexuality and gender identities. I specialise in assisting clients in the decolonisation of their minds from the damaging effects of narcissistic abuse.

We will explore the erroneous core beliefs you hold about yourself as a result of the emotional and psychological impact of abuse, neglect and narcissistic abuse. You will undergo change as you deconstruct the adapted self that you needed to be in order to survive difficulties. In doing so, you discover and strengthen your sense of self and sense of worth, leading to healthy boundaried relationships.

My first session

I use the relational core conditions of person-centred therapy: genuineness, unconditional positive regard and empathy, to establish safety and stabilisation. We then get curious about your way of being as well as how and why you would like to be different. We may do parts work (IFS) to further exploration. You will also be offered resources and psychoeducation to enhance self-discovery beyond sessions

The initial session is about creating a space of safety and trust in which you can begin to share your story and what it is you would like from therapy.

There is an assessment involving some exploratory questions. We consider any previous therapy and the benefits gained, as well as what you may want to do differently.

At this stage, you may simply need to talk and share. Equally, you may have goals in mind that we can make note of.

About me and my therapy practice

As a qualified Clinical Supervisor my approach is based on the comprehensive Seven-Eyed model of supervision developed by Peter Hawkins and Robin Shohet. I offer supervision to individual counsellors, including those in training. Supervision is a place of trust and transparency, where we collaborate for the benefit of your clients, and explore whatever is relevant for you in your development as a counsellor.

You are welcome to email me to arrange a free short telephone call. Sessions last up to 1 hour via Zoom or telephone only. Fee: £60. Trainees £50

Practice description

I am very interested in creating space to explore areas we are less likely to share, such as perceived failings, limitations or inadequacy. The greater the trust and transparency, the greater the growth and development that occurs.

Also, we consider the Â鶹ԭ´´ Ethical Framework as a living document that informs our work together.

My first session

The initial supervision session involves exploring your previous experiences of supervision and what you are hoping for in our work together. We look at contracting, boundaries and expectations.

You will have the opportunity to share what is currently uppermost in your client-work so that you can see how we work together.
