About me and my therapy practice

Life can be challenging, and sometimes we all need a safe space to pause, reflect, and make sense of our experiences. Counselling offers a confidential, supportive environment where you can explore what feels difficult, confusing, or painful, gain perspective, and begin to move towards meaningful change.

I understand that seeking support takes courage. My aim is to help you feel heard, understood, and empowered.

Since qualifying in 2015, I have worked with clients to develop a deeper understanding of themselves and the ways they relate to others. I bring depth, confidence, and warmth to my work, tailoring my approach to each individual. I offer an open and containing space where clients can explore the challenges they face, patterns in their relationships, and their sense of self. I believe that a genuine therapeutic relationship, one grounded in curiosity and compassion, can support clients in making lasting change.

Working from a psychodynamic perspective, I help clients notice repeating patterns of behaviour that may sit outside conscious awareness, and explore how their current ways of relating and responding have been shaped by earlier life experiences. I pay attention not only to what is brought into the room, but also to what unfolds within the therapy relationship itself, recognising this as an important source of insight and change. My approach is steady and reflective, combining depth with gentle challenge.

I work with clients whose lives have been affected by trauma, including developmental and relational trauma. Where experiences feel intrusive, overwhelming, or difficult to move beyond, I integrate EMDR to support their processing, always within a broader relational understanding of each person’s history

Practice description

Sessions are available both in person, from my office in Reading, and online, depending on your preference. I work in both open-ended and time-limited ways, and if you’re unsure which might suit you best, we can think this through together during an initial consultation. I work with adults.

My first session

I believe it’s important that, before beginning our work together, you have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about therapy and to consider whether I feel like the right fit for you as a therapist.

The initial consultation offers a safe and confidential space to explore this. The session lasts 50 minutes and costs £70. During this time, we will talk about what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from it.

The therapeutic relationship is central to the work, and it’s important that you have a sense of whether working together feels right for you. We can also think together about whether you would like to continue and what the next steps might look like
