About me and my therapy practice

I'm Janine and I'm a qualified, experienced counsellor working in the heart of Epsom.

I am an integrative counsellor, which means that I am trained in a range of techniques but my primary focus is on tailoring counselling to what you, the client, needs. I will ask you about your experiences and feelings and listen to what has brought you to counselling. Listening to you and learning about how you have experienced life and relationships will allow me to walk alongside you, so that together we can enter a process of healing, change and discovery. I genuinely believe that you know what is causing you pain or distress and my job is to engage with you, listen and challenge you so that together we can find the answers and the routes to change and recovery.

Practice description

Since 2016, I have worked with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, issues arising from neurodivergence (Autism, ADHD), relationships, parenting, OCD, work and school related stress and sexuality and gender identity.

If you are feeling a bit lost, anxious or low, I am here to help. I help clients of all ages every day with a range of challenges, including anxious feelings, issues arising from ADHD and autism, relationship struggles, family ups and downs, feeling low (depression) and low self esteem.

I offer a safe, comfortable and private space where we can talk about what is troubling you and find a way through it together. I am skilled at making this a comfortable and safe experience for you so a session might include play or sensory materials for younger clients, while adult clients may just need to talk and be listened to. Together we will find what is comfortable and effective for you and go at your pace.

My first session

In the first session, I will ensure you feel comfortable and find out a bit more about you and what has brought you to counselling.

I will also share a little about my background in counselling and what you can expect of me and the process.

We can then reflect on how the first session has felt and whether we both feel comfortable to proceed with further sessions.
