About me and my therapy practice
I believe therapy is a space where you can slow down, feel heard and begin to understand yourself with greater compassion and curiosity.
My approach is warm, collaborative and non-judgemental. I don’t see myself as someone who has all the answers; instead, I work alongside you to explore what is happening in your life, what may be keeping you stuck, and what you would like to be different.
I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, including person-centred therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Transactional Analysis. I also use practical tools and exercises where appropriate, helping you develop greater awareness of your thoughts, emotions, behaviours and the patterns that can sometimes operate beneath the surface.
I have a particular interest in compulsive and habitual behaviours, including our relationship with food, and in understanding the emotional needs that can sit behind behaviours we may feel frustrated or overwhelmed by.
I also have experience supporting people around the psychological and behavioural aspects of weight management, including the changes that can come with using GLP-1 medications. These changes can sometimes affect our relationship with food, our sense of identity, our emotions and how we understand ourselves.
Therapy can sometimes involve difficult emotions, but it can also be a place for curiosity and insight. Exporing all this can really help us become more aware of whats 'really' going on.
Whether you are dealing with a specific difficulty, feeling stuck, struggling with patterns that you cannot seem to change, or simply feel that something in your life needs exploring, you are welcome to bring that into our work together.
Practice description
I offer a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever has brought you to therapy. I work collaboratively, at your pace, and believe that you are the expert in your own experience.
My practice includes both individual and group work, and I have extensive experience of working with people online via Zoom as well as in person. I am comfortable creating a safe and connected therapeutic space online, and can work with clients who prefer the flexibility and privacy of remote sessions.
I work with a range of issues, including difficulties with food and eating, compulsive and habitual behaviours, emotional wellbeing, confidence, self-esteem, bereavement, life changes and feeling stuck or overwhelmed. I am particularly interested in helping people understand the patterns behind their thoughts, feelings and behaviours, rather than simply trying to change the behaviour itself.
My approach draws from person-centred therapy, CBT and Transactional Analysis, alongside practical tools and techniques where appropriate. I will not tell you what you should do or expect you to fit into a particular model. Instead, we will explore together what is happening for you and what might help.
I also have an interest in the psychological and behavioural aspects of weight management, including the changes people may experience when using GLP-1 medication. This can include exploring changes in the relationship with food, identity, emotions, habits and expectations around weight loss. I do not provide medical advice or prescribe medication, but can support the psychological aspects alongside appropriate medical care.
My aim is for therapy to feel like a space where you can be honest, curious and understood, without judgement.
