Availability
I currently have some availability. Sessions are offered over Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week. Sessions are in person or online over Zoom.
Typically counselling is arranged for regular weekly or fortnightly sessions on the same day and time each time we meet. However, life can be complicated and I try to accommodate various working patterns and other commitments you may have.
About me and my therapy practice
Are you here because you are feeling overwhelmed, or lost, unheard, or stuck? I often hear this and other things like, I never feel good enough, I over think everything, I take on too much, or I people please. Whatever’s going on for you, I welcome the opportunity to discuss your individual and unique concerns with you.
I work with a wide range of the challenges life can deal and whether sessions are held in person or online, I hold a safe, supportive and confidential space for the work.
I am an experienced, accredited counsellor with over 20 years of experience. I have held counselling positions in a variety of settings including, a G.P. Practice, the voluntary and charity sectors and since 2011 in my private practice. My work is a privilege and I enjoy getting alongside different people and providing support.
Sometimes the work can be short-term, just a few sessions can be valuable and effective. Other times a more open-ended approach works best. Counselling can be a place to safely work on making significant changes in your life, to gain understanding of how past events impact life in the present or it can be a safe place to offload and feel really heard and understood.
Practice description
My practice has been established since 2011 and provides a warm and professional approach to counselling and therapy.
If you prefer to meet in person I will be pleased to see you in my consulting room in Bishop's Cleeve. The room offers a comfortable and calm space and there is free parking.
Online sessions are available and offer the benefit of no travel time or expenses to consider. I use zoom video platform which is straightforward to use and I will be pleased to talk you through the process. I have undertaken thorough training to support online counselling and I am a member of the Association for Counselling and Therapy Online (ACTO).
My first session
Our first session is a chance to get a feel of how the counselling process will work between us. We can think about the approach that is right for you, including whether you need just a few sessions or an open-ended approach.
You might feel nervous before the first session and that's absolutely understandable. I will ask quite a few questions in the first session and hopefully I will help to put you at ease. The feedback I receive indicates that it's not as scary as it could be. I won't delve too deeply and we will work at your pace.
If for whatever reason I am not the right counsellor for you, we can think about what help you need or I can refer you to a colleague.
The first session is charged at the usual fee.
