About me and my therapy practice
How I Work
Perhaps you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed or stuck, struggling in your relationships, or noticing patterns that you would like to understand and change. You may be going through a difficult period or life transition, or perhaps things look fine on the outside but inside you feel disconnected or uncertain about what you really want.
You don't need to be in crisis to come to therapy. You may want to understand yourself better, feel more confident in your choices, improve your relationships or explore what would make life feel more fulfilling and true to who you are.
I work with adults and young people, offering a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can explore what is happening in your life now and become curious about the experiences and patterns that may be influencing how you feel and relate to others.
My core training is in Psychosynthesis and I also draw on attachment theory, trauma-informed practice, CBT and psychoeducation. My style combines warmth and acceptance with curiosity and gentle challenge. I will support you to notice unhelpful patterns and try something different. This is at a pace that feels right for you.
I am a Â鶹Դ´-accredited counsellor with professional experience across private practice, education and the charity sector, including supporting young people with additional and complex needs in school settings.
I believe that understanding ourselves with compassion creates the freedom to make different choices, build healthier relationships and live a more meaningful life. If this resonates, I'd be glad to hear from you and talk about how I can support you.
Practice description
Therapy with me is a collaborative process, shaped by you and what you need. Sometimes that means simply having space to talk and be listened to. At other times, we may explore relationship patterns, difficult or conflicting emotions, or earlier experiences that continue to affect you.
Talking is at the heart of my work, but where it feels useful I may also draw on mindfulness and grounding techniques to help settle anxiety or overwhelm in the moment. Sometimes I may use imagery and creative approaches to work with feelings that are hard to put into words. There's no expectation to work in a particular way; we'll find what suits you.
How long people stay in therapy varies a great deal. Some clients come with a specific issue they want to work through and find a shorter, focused piece of work is enough; others prefer longer-term, open-ended therapy that allows more space to explore patterns and change gradually over time. We can talk about what feels right for you, and this can shift as we go.
I offer both short-term, focused work and longer-term open-ended therapy, depending on what you're looking for, with sessions face-to-face in Crouch End, North London (N8) or online — whichever suits your circumstances best.
My first session
Taking the first step can feel daunting. I offer a free 20-minute phone or video consultation where you can tell me a little about what is bringing you to therapy and what you hope to gain from it. It is also an opportunity to ask questions, talk through any concerns you may have and get a sense of whether working together feels right for you.
Finding a therapist you feel comfortable with is an important part of the process, whether this is your first experience of therapy or you have had counselling before. There is no obligation to continue after our initial conversation. If I don't feel I am the right person to support you, I will be open about this and, where possible, suggest alternative sources of support.
If we decide to work together, I will ask you to complete a working agreement and an intake assessment form ahead of our first session. We will discuss these together during our first session alongside anything else you'd like to raise. The first session is charged at my standard rate, and we will then arrange a mutually convenient day and time for future sessions. This will usually become your dedicated weekly appointment.
