About me and my therapy practice

Jessica Andexer (She/They) AuDHD Counsellor, in practice since 2006, Fully Neuro-Affirmative & Lived-Experience Led

About Me & My Approach

Traditional therapies often ignore what neuroscience and lived experience tell us: our bodies, brains, and nervous systems are deeply intertwined with our mental health. One size does not fit all, especially for the neurodivergent community.

As a multiply neurodivergent, AuDHD psychotherapist, I offer a novel, active, and engaged approach. Combining deep therapeutic processing with neurobiologically informed tools and "hacks," I invite the whole of you into the room. My practice is inspired by neuroscience, Buddhist psychology, and somatic modalities. Together, we look at what brought you here, what is happening in the here-and-now, and where you want to be.

Is This You?

If you are looking for therapy that doesn't feel like anything you've tried before, ask yourself:

鈼 Would having an AuDHD therapist with lived experience create a deeper sense of safety for you?

鈼 Do you want to understand how your unique brain and nervous system shows up in your day-to-day life and energy?

鈼 Are you looking for practical, personalized, ND-friendly hacks to navigate a world built for neurotypical people?

鈼 Do you need a gentle, non-pathologising space to just be with your feelings?

I welcome anyone who identifies as neurodivergent, whether you are formally diagnosed, self-identified, or exploring the possibility.

I am committed to creating inclusive, anti-racist, anti-ableist, anti-classist, gender-affirming, queer-friendly spaces. I am a professional, but I am not the expert in you!

I offer a range of fees, please find further information about that and other FAQs here:

鈼 Nervous system psycho-education: learn how to understand and respond to your feelings.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an AuDHD therapist and I work with and support neurodivergent mental health professionals. I have worked across the voluntary sector, NHS, universities and private practice.

Trained in psychodynamic and integrative approaches, with additional training in trauma work, autism and ADHD and neuroscience-informed approaches to mental health. I am also a trained mindfulness teacher and somatic practitioner.

As a supervisor, I aim to help you strip away the rigid, neurotypical expectations of traditional training and build a clinical practice that honors both your clients鈥 neurobiology and your own.

My approach is active, collaborative, and deeply egalitarian: I am the clinical peer, but you are the expert in your practice.

My way of working is neuroscience, somatic regulation, and trauma-informed.

Here is what you can expect from our supervisory space:

* Deconstructing the Frameworks: We will take traditional psychological theories鈥攐ften built by and for neurotypical minds鈥攁nd creatively reframe them through an authentic, neuro-affirmative lens.

* Embodied and Somatic Consultation: Talk-only supervision can miss the wisdom of the nervous system. Integrating Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB) and somatic modalities, we explore how burnout, masking, and sensory overwhelm manifest in your clients鈥攁nd how to safely adapt tools like breathwork and mindfulness for the ND brain.

* Holding Space for the Practitioner: A sustainable practice requires managing your own executive function, energy, and sensory joy. I offer a gentle, non-pathologising space to unpack your own experiences as a clinician, explore self care both in and out of work, preventing practitioner burnout.

I integrate progressive, inclusive pedagogy to foster an inclusive and affirming space. Whether you are a therapist, coach, or counsellor, we will work collaboratively to make your practice a safer, more effective, and deeply authentic environment.

Practice description

Traditional clinical spaces often ask neurodivergent practitioners and clients to mask, adapt, or squeeze into rigid, neurotypical therapeutic boxes. My supervisory practice is a radical departure from that. I offer an active, highly collaborative, and lived-experience-led environment designed for therapists, coaches, and mindfulness professionals who want to pivot toward truly neuro-affirmative, somatic, and embodied ways of working.

What to Expect:

Our supervisory relationship is entirely egalitarian. I don鈥檛 sit back as a detached, rigid expert; I bring my authentic self, my 20-year clinical background, and my lived experience as an AuDHD practitioner into the room.

In our sessions, you can expect:

* Deep Deconstruction: We will actively take psychological theories created by and for neurotypical minds, strip away the pathologising lenses, and reframe them through an authentic neurodivergent framework.

* Somatic and Nervous System Focus: Moving beyond talk-only consultation, we will use neuroscience-informed and somatic principles to reflect on clinical presentations. We will explore how to safely adapt therapeutic concepts, practices and somatic tools so they are genuinely accessible to the ND brain.

* Nuanced Case Exploration: Expert guidance on navigating complex client identities, multiply-neurodivergent neurotypes, intesectionality, how trauma and other mental health issues interact and present.

* Practitioner Care: A safe, non-judgmental space to honor your own nervous system, manage executive function/admin fatigue, and prevent practitioner burnout.

My Commitment:

Grounded in progressive pedagogy and Buddhist psychology, my practice is explicitly anti-racist, anti-ableist, gender-affirming, and queer-friendly. Together, we will build a sustainable, creative clinical practice where both you and your clients can thrive.

My first session

What I offer:
I offer regular on going clinical supervision and reflective practice sessions, I also offer ad hoc or one off consultation sessions to all psychotherapists, counsellors and coaches. These can be useful if you would like to explore overarching aspects of neuro-affirmative therapeutic practice; or look at how your work impacts you from this perspective and how to better manage your own self care.

All sessions are available via video conference call or internet phone call only.
