About me and my therapy practice
A gentle welcome to you.
Is life feeling heavy and a struggle right now? I offer a calm, understanding space to help you make sense of things at your own pace.
I am a Person‑Centred Counsellor offering a warm, accepting, and non‑judgemental space where you can explore whatever you’re experiencing. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you as you gain clarity, self‑understanding, and confidence in your next steps.
My approach is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard. Clients often tell me they feel genuinely heard and supported, and able to express themselves freely — sometimes for the first time in a long while.
How I can support you:
I work with adults experiencing a range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including:
- Anxiety and stress
- Low self‑esteem
- Relationship or family issues
I have a particular and specialist interest in working with loss, recognising that loss can take many forms and affect every part of our emotional wellbeing.
Loss can be deeply overwhelming and disorientating, often leaving people feeling alone, emotionally drained, or unsure how to move forward. I offer a compassionate space where these experiences can be explored gently and at your own pace, so you don’t have to face them alone.
- Bereavement and the loss of a loved one
- Relationship breakdown or separation
- Loss of work, role, or identity
- Health‑related loss or life‑changing diagnoses
With over ten years’ experience as a qualified Person‑Centred Counsellor, alongside more than twenty years working within the mental health sector, I bring a depth of experience and a broad understanding of emotional and psychological wellbeing. This background has given me a vast amount of knowledge, enabling me to offer informed, compassionate, and grounded support tailored to each individual.
A free 20‑minute introductory phone call is available so you can decide whether I’m the right counsellor for you.
My first session
Your first appointment is an assessment and is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We’ll talk about what has brought you to counselling, what you would like support with, and what you hope to gain from the sessions. I’ll explain how person-centred counselling works and answer any questions you may have. Most importantly, the assessment gives you the chance to see whether you feel comfortable with me and whether I’m the right counsellor for you. There is no pressure to commit to further sessions—you should feel that counselling is a safe, supportive space where you can be yourself and explore what matters to you.
