About me and my therapy practice
If for some time you have felt stuck, low or not living to your full potential and wish to get to the heart of the matter, please read on....
I am a Â鶹Դ´ accredited counsellor & psychotherapist with more than 28 years of clinical experience. I work with individuals and couples and support parents of children with mental health problems.
Prior to becoming a counsellor, I was a social worker within mental health. For more than 12 years I worked as a GP counsellor within the NHS.
Seeking therapy is a very brave step, especially if you have no previous experience. But it can be a huge relief to be with a professional person in a confidential setting where only you matter.
I offer open ended and time-limited therapy contracts.
I have a specialism in brief dynamic therapy (please look on my website for further information: www.ingridschultz.co.uk).
With couples I work both in-person as well as online. In 2019 I completed a post qualifying course in couple therapy with Tavistock Relationships. This in-depth training has enabled me to work with couples more effectively.
My consulting room is on the 2nd floor of a quiet office building in the centre of Frome. Frome is easily accessible from Warminster, Westbury, Trowbridge, Radstock, Shepton, Wells and the surrounding villages.
My first session
The initial appointment with a new client or a new couple is used as a therapeutic assessment. This is an in-depth exploration about why the individual or couple is coming now, what they are looking & hoping for from the therapy, their current circumstances and their past history. The initial appointment with an individual client takes 55 mins.
The initial appointment for a couple takes 60 mins, but often a second assessment session is required. I charge £65 for the initial couple assessment, as well as for ongoing appointments.

About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced supervisor. I offer supervision to qualified therapists or trainee counsellors either individually or in small groups at my consulting room in the centre of Frome, or online.
I also offer supervision for therapists working with couples.
For 6 years (until 2023) I worked as a supervisor for a large counselling organisation in Gloucestershire. I supervised both qualified as well as trainee counsellors. I have also been a training supervisor for Wessex Counselling & Psychotherapy Service in Frome.
In my supervision practice I offer an environment of respect, trust, openness and honesty. My aim is to support and enable a supervisee to the best of my abilities, but also to provide a holding and nurturing environment, as at times therapeutic work can be very challenging and demanding.
I encourage and support each supervisee to develop their own way of working within the Â鶹Դ´ Ethical Framework.
For me, one of the core elements of supervision is to support the supervisee to explore their feelings and sensations in order to develop their thinking and deepen their understanding of what may be happening for the client in the therapeutic process. I see my role as supervisor is to support a supervisee in developing this ability.
I do not charge for an initial meeting with a therapist or trainee who is thinking about receiving supervision from me. Once the supervisee has decided that they wish for me to become their supervisor, I then aim to put a supervision agreement in place, which I discuss with the supervisee first. I feel it is important to have regular reviews and feed back sessions in order to make sure that the supervisee is satisfied with the service that I am offering.
I have undergone a short training to support counsellors who wish to go through the Â鶹Դ´ accreditation process with the aim of becoming Â鶹Դ´ accredited. I can offer mentoring, support and a read-through service.
