About me and my therapy practice

I work both in person and online as well as offering nature based therapy outdoors (walk & talk).  Whatever your reasons are for looking for a therapist it's important to decide on the right person for you so here is some information about me that you might find useful whilst making your decision.

I have been working as a therapist for over 20 years and have also trained in trauma-focused approaches, which can be highly effective in supporting the healing of past trauma and in clearing limiting beliefs and patterns of behaviour.

I offer therapy for a range of issues, including-but not limited to  depression, anxiety, trauma (both past & present), parenting challenges, relationship difficulties, work related stress and questions around identity.

I work either long or short term and will tailor my approach to align with your unique nature and needs. I offer a range of practical tools that you can use between sessions alongside the opportunity for deeper longer-term psyschotherapy.

For more information and testimonials from previous clients I invite you to have a browse through my website where you can find more information about me and the way I work.

Practice description

Alongside offering therapy in my practice, I also provide outdoor nature-based therapy.  This involves walking together in natural settings, which many find to be a gentler, less intense way to explore personal issues.  Being outdors can be deeply grounding and can support a deeper understanding of your unique connection with nature. We can walk along the coastal path or, if preferred, through a local park that offers a variety of landscapes , including woodland and open spaces.  If the weather isn't ideal and you'd prefer to be indoors from time to time, that's absolutely fine too.

Studies have shown that time in nature can lower blood pressure and stress hormone levels, reduce nervous system arousal, enhance immune system function, increase self-esteem, reduce anxiety, and improve mood.

My first session

Your first session will be a chance for us to explore what you hope to gain from therapy and to address any questions or concerns you may have.  If you are interested in nature-based therapy, we'll also consider the practical and safety aspects of working outdoors, and reflect on how therapy in natural setttings might support your process.

To help you decide whether I'm the righ therapist for you , I offer a complementary 15 minute zoom call.  This gives you the opportunity to meet me, ask any initial questions, and get a sense of how I work before committing to a full, paid session.

About me and my therapy practice

As a Clinical Supervisor with over 8 years experience & over 20 years working as a therapist I provide guidance and support to therapists, mental health professionals and organisations.  I have been actively supervising individuals and teams across various settings with organisations including my ongoing work with Mind in Brixton, London since 2016.

I qualified as a supervisor with The Gestalt Centre, London in 2016 and completed a Group Supervision training certificate with The Centre for Counselling and Pyschotherapy Education (CCPE) with Robin Shoet in 2018.

Practice description

As a supervisor I believe it is important for me to understand your needs as a therapist and to develop a relationship with you which enables you to feel safe enough to be open  and honest about how you are working with clients and the challenges you might be facing.   Clients can bring up all kinds of emotions in us as therapists and can at times be quite triggering which makes supervision a really vital part of the process.

I tend to work from a relational perspective along with a blend of Gestalt, Humanistic, Transactional Analysis and Person Centred Approach. I also place importance on how past trauma affects clients as adults and how to help clients process this, particularly childhood trauma which is held in the body.

I will encourage you to be curious about what each client is bringing up for you and how to work effectively with this and to understand what this is telling you about the client.

I offer individual and group supervision to both qualified therapists and therapists in training either in person or online.  I offer some concessions to therapists in training.

My first session

Your first session will involve us getting to know each other and to discuss your supervision needs as well as thinking through any individual cases or challenges you might need help with.

I also welcome you to bring any personal or professional development enquiries such as courses you might be interested in which we can explore together.
