About me and my therapy practice

Hello I'm Roz. Thank you for viewing my profile.

I have been a practising Â鶹ԭ´´ Accredited Counsellor for over 20 years; this means that I have been assessed by the Â鶹ԭ´´ as a Competent, Independent and Ethical counsellor, so you are in safe hands.

I also hold a Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling approved by ACTO which qualifies me to offer therapy remotely

I offer discounts for counselling students in training

My special interest is autism and ADHD. I am signed up to support the National Autistic Society, through their 'Work for Good' scheme. They will benefit from the proceeds of my first novel about an autistic psychologist and my unwritten book about an autistic boys experience in a world designed by and for neurotypicals.

Supervisor - Crowthorne

Crowthorne RG45
07946577296
Sessions from £40.00

Features

  • Flexible hours available

Availability

I work Monday - Friday 9am-7pm using a video platform or telephone

Some supervisees prefer to meet for 90 minutes once a month, others prefer 45 minute sessions twice monthly.  I am flexible for both durations.

About me and my therapy practice

My core counsellor training  was humanistic integrated. Since my training I have kept abreast of other approaches to inform my practice.

As a supervisor I can be flexible to your needs. I have found that The Seven-Eyed Model, (Hawkins & Shohet) works well with most counselling approaches. If this model is not suitable for your needs I can be flexible.

I offer a safe and empathic environment with sensitive, supportive challenge when necessary for growth.  Working together in such a space, it is my hope that you will bring your positive experiences of working as a counsellor and share the more complex aspects too.

If we choose to use The 7 Eyed Model, I will start the session with Eye 7 because how you have been in your everyday life over the past month can effect your work.

My supervision training was with CAST, Creative Arts Supervision Training, London (2010) Seven-Eyed Model. I can therefore offer additional creative approaches to client work

Supervision Testimonial from Becky Eyles MÂ鶹ԭ´´ (Accred.)

pineforesttherapies.com

"Roz is a great supervisor that I would definitely recommend. I was drawn to her creative style and training, as I use a lot of creative interventions with my clients. Roz supported me excellently when personal matters arose, through my accreditation process and as I transitioned from counselling employment into private practice - I'm not sure I would have made the step when I did without her encouragement. She gave me lots of time and space in sessions to share my thoughts and feelings about clients, and if I was feeling stuck, would ask questions and make suggestions that helped me move forwards. Roz wouldn't be afraid to challenge areas where I could improve, always doing so constructively and never critically. I can see several ways I have developed as a counsellor and grown my confidence."

Practice description

My style is collegial, respecting my colleagues at all stages of their counselling career.

Together we can agree how we will work within the Â鶹ԭ´´ framework

My core counsellor training was in Humanistic Integrative: Gestalt, Person Centred, Existential in the main.  I have studied other models including  Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Transpersonal, CBT and The Psychodynamic Model, all of which inform my practice.

Supervision Testimonial from Jan Vinall, Counsellor & Hypnotherapist

"Roz Henfrey has been my counselling supervisor for quite a few years in fact since I first started. We first got together when I was on placement and finding my feet and continues to the present day and now having my own business.

Roz had the kindness, patience, skills and knowledge to guide me through the early days and this continues today.

I have learnt so much during our supervision and never been made to feel that I was not able at my job even if at times especially in the early days I felt overwhelmed. Roz was the voice of calmness and gave me tools to add to my tool box.

Roz (and I hope she does not mind me writing this) is the most valued tool. Roz shares her knowledge and empathy, this helps me develop my own knowledge and skills further in a safe environment. She helps me to identify my strengths and areas I need to work on.

Feedback given is clear and balanced and specific.

I love working with Roz and value the way we explore different ways of working especially when a session will sit in my head and explore why this is and different ways of looking at it.

Roz has helped me grow and trust my own judgement and intuition and insight. Thank you Roz"

My first session

This is the start of getting to know each other and I aim to put my supervisee at ease to foster effective  supervision

We can agree how we work together within the Â鶹ԭ´´ framework, and I can introduce the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision

We can then take it from there. There is no obligation.

I encourage reviews of our work together, your progress and our relationship

How will we start our subsequent sessions together?

I will ask you how your life has been since we last met.

This is Eye 7 of the model. It allows you to off load anything from your employment, your personal life, anything residual  from our previous session and of course your client work, that you wish to discuss or just offload.

This is time for you as a counsellor and a person but is not counselling.
