About me and my therapy practice

Are you struggling? Perhaps you feel you’re stuck and fear your're going round in circles. Sometimes we need support to make sense of our lives, find our way back, forward or sideways. Sometimes, we need someone else to hear, understand us and be alongside us on our journey, to help us see the broader view.  Perhaps you’ve had or are having a hard time but don’t know how to change or even if that’s possible. But you hope for something different, for growth as all living creatures do, in the same way new growth reaches for the light. Whatever it is, life is inevitable and change is possible even if it doesn’t feel that way just now.

Availability

I work Monday to Thursday in Cuasewayside in Edinburgh or online.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an accredited Supervisor for psychotherapists, counsellors, trainee’s, anyone working with people across modalities. I endeavour to hold a safe space of support and growth to reflect on all the challenges and gifts of working with people. To support you to apply and reflect on theory with compassion. I use curiosity to work with what you know, share my experience and what I know when it’s applicable, question the knowledge and assumptions you hold and offer support to be with what is not known. I encourage working with creative approaches such as using objects, role, embodiment and art to get a different perspective, in so doing often uncovering unconscious processes. With inclusion and using various therapeutic theories I hope my approach will meet you wherever you are, through the journey of what it is to be a therapist and a human.

Practice description

I really understand how important it is to have a warm space where, curiosity and creativity can flourish as I know personally how much we need it as therapists in order to work effectively. I have trained in Creative Arts in Supervision across Modalities at the London Centre for Psychodrama an approach influenced by Psychodynamic as well as Psychodrama theory and I am a Â鶹ԭ´´ Accredited Gestalt Therapist with 12 years’ experience in private practice. I have experience of how important it is work safely alone where perhaps there is need to explore possible supports and the challenge of working within bigger institutions where there may a need to find your own individuality.

Beyond my years of being a therapist I also have a background in music, dance, visual art, creative writing, Buddhist mediation as well as health and social care and so using embodied, mindful, relational and creative processes are part of how I work and what I hope to bring into the Supervision relationship.

My first session

I offer a 15 min free chat to meet and chat and see if we might be a good fit to work together.
