About me and my therapy practice
鈥淎 compassionate space to feel calmer, understand your experiences, and rebuild confidence to move forward.鈥
Hello, I鈥檓 Sally. Reaching out for therapy takes courage. Life can bring challenges 鈥 anxiety, low mood, grief, relationship difficulties, identity questions, or major life transitions, leaving you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward. Therapy helps you gain clarity, develop coping strategies, and reconnect with your inner strength.
I am a Chartered Psychologist and 麻豆原创 Accredited Counsellor. I have over 30 years鈥 experience in the NHS and private practice in mental health, psychology, wellbeing, clinical practice, training and research. Alongside this I have over 15 years鈥 experience in counselling and psychotherapy. I hold a PhD (Psychology) and an MSc in Integrative Counselling, and have completed specialist training in trauma, trauma-informed therapy, dissociative disorders, self-harm and suicide. I am a trustee of the Dissociative Disorders Alliance.
I have worked extensively with adults and young people (13+), supporting challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief and bereavement, relationship difficulties, and identity concerns.
I am also a trauma specialist, supporting clients with complex trauma, complex post traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD), and dissociative disorders including dissociative identity disorder (DID). My aim is to help you explore difficult experiences safely, develop coping strategies, strengthen resilience, and regain a sense of control.
My approach is integrative and trauma-informed, blending Person-Centred, Gestalt, Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Solution-Focused, and Relational methods. Together, we work to understand patterns, manage emotions, and develop practical tools to cope, recover, and thrive.
Practice description
I provide a flexible, collaborative approach, tailoring sessions to your pace, priorities, and goals. Therapy is not just talking 鈥 it鈥檚 about healing, reclaiming your strength, and creating a life that feels authentic and manageable.
Together, we focus on:
鈥 Understanding thoughts, feelings, and behaviours
鈥 Reducing stress and heavy emotions
鈥 Building confidence, resilience, and self-trust
鈥 Developing coping strategies for everyday challenges
鈥 Reconnecting with strengths, values, and a sense of self
鈥 Feeling grounded, present, and in control.
I adapt my approach to suit you 鈥 some clients benefit from reflective conversation, others from creative or experiential methods. Every session is shaped around you and your goals, so therapy feels empowering and meaningful.
My first session
Your first session is a warm, safe, and confidential space to share what鈥檚 bringing you to therapy, discuss your goals, ask questions, and explore whether working together feels right. I offer a free 30-minute introductory session to get to know each other and see if my approach is the right fit 鈥 with no pressure to decide on the spot.
Session length: 50 minutes
Fees: 拢65 per session;
Trauma & Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) sessions: 90 minutes 鈥 providing extra time and space so all parts of you can be heard, acknowledged, and supported safely. 90min sessions are also available for anyone who wants more time to delve deeper into their difficulties.
Fees: 拢90 per session.
Some concessions available on request.
