About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified and experienced counsellor, working with people struggling with a variety of issues, including anxiety and depression.
You may sense that something is wrong, but cannot quite put a finger on it-feeling unable to share these feelings with family or friends, counselling can offer you a different place to talk about and work through your problems.
I will support you throughout your counselling, providing a compassionate, safe, confidential and non-judgemental space, as we explore together the difficulties that you are facing, so that you can start to understand and make more sense of them, that may then lead to meaningful change.
I am registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (Â鶹Դ´), which means I abide by a strict code of ethics and standards.
I work with adult individuals, aged 18 years and above.
I have particular experience and interest in working with issues around:
Mens' issues
Anxiety
Depression
Stress
Poor Self-esteem
Relationships
Dealing with Narcissistic parents
Bereavement and loss
Personal identity
Work related issues
Practice description
My approach to counselling is flexible, sensitive, and respectful, adapting to your personal needs.
By gaining a better understanding and awareness of yourself, you can start to recognise often repeated and unwanted thoughts and behaviours. This can then help you to identify new and different choices, enabling you to make the changes necessary to lead a healthier, more confident and fulfilling way of life
I passionately believe in the process and lasting benefits of counselling, and I do my best to integrate that enthusiasm and passion in my work with clients.
I am based in Markyate, near to St Albans, Dunstable and Luton.
I practice from home via a private office located in my peaceful garden.
I offer both face to face counselling sessions, or when more convenient, via Zoom.
My first session
If you would like the opportunity of discussing specific issues that are affecting you, before committing to regular counselling, please feel free to call or e-mail me to arrange an initial 15 minute consultation over the phone.
Sessions are then normally arranged to take place on a regular, weekly basis, last for 60 minutes, at a suitable time that is agreed between us.
I tend to work on an open-ended basis, until such time we both feel we have come to an end of our work together.
