About me and my therapy practice
With over 20 years of experience in mental health, I began my career in the NHS as a psychotherapist, specialising in long and medium-term therapy. For the past 15 years, I have been dedicated to private practice, successfully addressing a wide range of issues for individuals and couples.
In today's fast-paced world, we are often overwhelmed by information, pressure, and responsibilities. The constant bombardment of tasks and expectations can lead to feelings of stress, anxiety, and overwhelm, manifesting in various ways such as overthinking, anxiety, procrastination, low self-esteem, depression and more.
My approach to your therapy is designed to help you rediscover yourself amidst this chaos, enabling you to find calm, ease, and happiness in your life. Through our collaborative work, we will explore strategies to shift negative outlooks, empowering you to create the life you want and fostering a positive relationship with yourself.
As an integrated therapist, I draw from diverse theories, combining classical psychodynamic principles with contemporary existential and transpersonal perspectives. This allows me to offer you a comprehensive toolkit to find what resonates best for you.
Together, we will create a supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and emotions openly.
I will share my knowledge with you, equipping you with insights and tools to navigate the challenges in your life on your own, empowering you to continue your therapeutic journey independently.
If you have specific areas to focus on or questions, please feel free to reach out at 07786488766 or email me at emma@emmadashwoodpsychotherapy.com.
