About me and my therapy practice
I believe wholeheartedly that counselling can provide an accepting, open and non-judgemental environment that facilitates a discovery of who we are. This self-discovery can itself be healing and can help us overcome distress or challenging life situations.
Before becoming a counsellor, and alongside my practice, I work within businesses helping with organisation development, change management, people development and HR as well as mentoring and coaching.
In my counselling practice I work with most topics but my specialisation is in major life transitions and ageing.
I have deep expertise in ill health, midlife and end of natural life. To me, ageing is not necessarily a decline and a reduction in who we are but a time and opportunity for reflection, growth and expansion.
I work in a non-directive, open and curious way and in collaboration with you and we will also work with what emerges between us in the 'room' as the sessions evolve. It is important you feel you can trust me and I am part of this process with you.
Counselling is not necessarily about being helped by someone who suggests solutions to your problems, it is a journey of discovery we make together about who you are, what isn't working for you at the moment and what might start to make a difference.
Practice description
I work in private practice in a cosy and safe private room in East Grinstead, West Sussex with plenty of parking outside.
I also work online via Zoom and over the telephone if preferred.
For those who are unable to attend face to face and are housebound or unable to travel I offer home visits.
My first session
I am happy to have an introductory call to talk more about how I work and how I might be able to support you, for you to decide if I might be the right counsellor for you.
In terms of first session, I believe that in order for you to make an informed choice about whether you feel safe and comfortable working with me it is best to have a full first session where you fully experience how it is to with me in therapy. And in that session we can work with what arises and talk more about if and/or how we proceed.
If you decide I am not the right counsellor for you we can talk about what might suit you better and I can signpost you to others who might help.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a humanistic, existential counsellor with 10+ year's experience.
I worked for Cruse Bereavement Care throughout my training and for a number of years afterwards, training and working with them as a supervisor.
I have been a private supervisor for the past 4-5 years, offering 1:1 supervision face to face or online via Zoom.
I provide a safe place for deep, curious reflection to support your practice and your client work.
I can work with most topics and specialisms within supervision.
My specialisms in my counselling practice are: midlife/menopause, life transitions, ageing, chronic ill health, bereavement, end of natural life and dying.
I am regularly published in Therapy today, sat on the Â鶹Դ´ Older People Expert Reference Group and have provided on-line training and conference sessions for the Â鶹Դ´ on ageing, counselling older people and midlife.
